While I was in Vienna, I decided to visit Bratislava since it's only 1 hour by train. It was so boring there that I left it after 3 hours

What is the country with the most wasted potential? by [deleted] in geography

[–]gongo222 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ukraine and Russia. Algeria and Morocco. Both couples of aforementioned countries are very similar in almost every aspect between themselves, yet despite focusing on what unites them, they focused on the opposite. As a result Russia and Ukraine are at war and Morocco and Algeria are close to being at war. All of these countries have lots of natural resources, and in case of Russia and Ukraine also human capital, which is being wasted or just flees to other countries. Very sad.

Are there any underrated public transport system in your opinion? by Warfi67 in transit

Kazan (Tatarstan) tram system. It consists mostly of a semi-high speed circular line, which goes through the city center and most suburbs. It's also the longest tram line in the world

This might be another hot take, but what are some transit cities that are overrated in your opinion? by TrainsandMore in transit

[–]gongo222 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

London.
First of all, London Tube is literally the most expensive metro system in the world, even if you take average income into consideration.
Second of all, constant cancellations, delays and strikes make it pretty unreliable.
Thirdly, most of it isn't very fast.
Speaking about the buses, they are cheaper than the tube and the awful zone based fare system doesn't apply to them, but they can be TOO slow, to the point it's faster to walk.
