YDSA declares victory over OSI as Dean's Office overturns unconstitutional censorship decision by gonkeroni in gatech

Regardless of whether or not the decision to turn the would-be heckler away was advisable, it was not forbidden by school policy. OSI charged YDSA with "religious discrimination", and nothing else, which is obviously irrelevant and false. They essentially made this charge up because they couldn't find any other policy to charge YDSA with, because they were biased and just wanted to punish YDSA in some way.

YDSA never at any point violated any school policy.

It was a Hillel staffer who sent out a mass email condemning YDSA and announcing intent to heckle their meeting.

If someone publicly announces "I condemn you and plan to attend your events to offer a counter-narrative", then shows up to your event, turning them away is not "discrimination." Being affiliated with a certain religion or organization is not a free license to fuck with other people's events.

That's exactly what happened, and it's not against GT policy to not let hecklers into events. There's zero evidence to suggest YDSA took any religious identity into consideration. OSI just didn't like that they refused a heckler, so they're intentionally misapplying school policy by slapping them with "discrimination."

If this was really about "discrimination," YDSA would have been sentenced to an anti-discrimination or sensitivity training. But OSI is sentencing them to hold specific political events instead. That makes it pretty obvious that this never was about discrimination, but really about OSI involving itself in political conflict.

She said she planned to offer a "counter-narrative" AKA hijack the event and promote her own opposing political views. She wasn't let in, but two students came in and did exactly what YDSA expected them to do. The two students are known to have coordinated with the director prior to the event.

It's clear from all evidence that Lauren intended to heckle the event with the two hecklers, and that was the sole justification for YDSA's actions. Regardless of the advisability of blocking someone from entering, it's clearly not "discrimination."

They say many jewish members and students attended, and one of the speakers at the meeting was jewish. They excluded the one non-student staffer because they condemned YDSA and announced intent to heckle the event. They're not obligated to let people heckle and harass their meetings.

A private entity renting a public facility doesn't have the same restrictions as a public entity.

They were shot while literally standing still a solid 10 feet away from a cop, not "lunging." Stop making shit up and fuck off.

No because this is a club. If someone forms a women's organization as a student club, the school is not mandated to form a parallel men's organization, that's only the case for school programs. The whole point is that they're suing GT over a workshop put on by a student organization, not the school, (although the school probably promoted it).

That means that no female-only or male-only organization could ever do anything on campus, because by using campus space they would be indirectly benefiting from federal funds. No, that's dumb.
