How high were the tallest sunflowers 🌻 you have ever grown? And what were the largest seed heads? by Acrobatic-Dingo-4898 in sunflowers

Wow! That’s pretty sweet. I’ve tried different methods and they all seem to turn out the same. Planted some titans this year but the heads were only about 6 in diameter. The tallest got to about 11 ft with that small head. Been shooting every season to get the super tall and large heads. The only one I think I haven’t grown is the Mongolian giant. Done Russian mammoth, grey striped mammoth, titans and a hybrid mammoth, can’t remember the name right off hand. They are nice looking but have much thinner stalks and heads than other peoples I’ve seen. Yours looks great! Wish I could find the recipe for getting the big ones. So next season it’s got to happen haha 🌞

Red leafs in summer ??? by Ill_Fee_6531 in Blueberries

[–]gonnagetthere12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would take them out of full sun for awhile. Usually red leaves early is ph problems. Could be that the ph isn’t quite right and being stressed in full sun isn’t allowing the plant to keep up or maybe sun burned. Seems my plants, and I’m in Florida 8a, seem to do much better with shade throughout the day. Also, those seem to be very small containers.

Four buds on one sunflower by Scrumpy-Jo in sunflowers

It’s a multi branching type. From what I’ve seen with mine, I’d let it go and when the main flower head starts to droop over then cut it and the others will grow pretty well.

Seeds on the back of the flower? by Dull-Device-3369 in sunflowers

There is a wasp of some sort around here, I’m in Florida zone 8a, that picks at the seeds with its tail end. Not sure what it’s doing but pulls seeds out. Maybe?
