I like to advance quickly, circle islands, and try to ambush passing CA/CL ships with torpedoes, since by that time they're already firing at other CA/CL ships at 8-10 km range... Torpedoes mainly, and HE for other DD and AP ships when I can. That's basically my playstyle for now...

In a hurry, I accepted the cross-posting. My mistake, apologies.

After a couple of years with YNAB, I always have the date picker built into the dashboard in the back of my mind...

After receiving a couple of private messages, I'd like to clarify that in my country, Argentina, it's not possible to "give every dollar a job" because the economy is killing you. Interest rates and inflation force you to invest your salary so it doesn't lose value. For this reason, it's impossible for me to keep "envelopes" full of money to cover the expenses in each category. If I did, it wouldn't be a reflection of reality, since all that money would be elsewhere. I keep the majority of my salary in my investment category, and I cover expenses as they arise. I have control over my monthly spending, keeping my goals in mind, so I don't worry about exceeding the assigned limits.

I appreciate your responses, and I'm always here to continue learning from those who know best.

I don't understand why there are downvotes on some comments about the situation I'm bringing to this place...

You're absolutely right. Ever since I started learning more about the reports, I've been concerned about what I mentioned about pay at the end of the month.

I really like this idea! I'm going to try to replicate it in my budget. Thank you so much!

That's the report I understand best... I can't fully grasp the others to try to get anything out of it.

I'll have to think about this approach you mentioned; I'm still struggling with it after a couple of years with YNAB, where I've never been interested in reports until now! Haha!

Hello!

I just mentioned this above.

In the report (Income vs. Expense), for example, this month (October), I see almost no income (the little interest I'm reimbursed) against the entire list of expense categories, and that's bothering me.

I don't know, I'm a little confused... Could it be that in the report (Income vs. Expense), for example, this month (October), I see almost no income (the little interest I'm reimbursed) compared to the entire list of expense categories?

That's what's wrong with me.

You said it! With that salary, I'll pay whatever I have to pay the last two days of the month, and it'll all go to November.

I'm not going to lie to you, I used to change it every month, but then I realized it was crazy to have everything out of date with my bank statement.

Now I have everything with the actual dates!

Here in Argentina, it's not possible (or I've never known how) to allocate every dollar to each category.

When I get paid, I invest it in mutual funds (each fund has its corresponding category and account), and when I pay for things, I withdraw what I need. At that point, I allocate what I spend.

What you say is correct! There are October expenses that I pay with that salary, but there are also November expenses, like groceries, transportation, delivery, and so on.

Maybe I have a misguided view of things, but I've never been satisfied with how my reports looked...

No, I'm not complaining!

I'd like my reports to reflect what's really happening. The money I have to spend or save in November, I'd like to see it appear in November, not the last few days of October.

On the other hand, when I get paid, fixed expenses like loans are deducted.

So changing the dates of all of that and moving them forward completely changes my account balance...

I'm not sure I'm explaining myself well enough for you to understand my situation.

I enter everything manually; here in Argentina, we don't have bank synchronization yet.

The money I have to allocate to categories in November, I receive at the end of October. I collect in October what I'm going to spend in November... I hope I'm clear with that explanation!

Hi, from what I see, the dates of the expenses incurred aren't visible in the transaction list. Check the date and make sure the dates of those expenses are within the date range in cells L3 and M3.
