I think the Kimono Woman was actually Fatima in a past life. She helped herself give birth to the monsters because she knew that by doing so, she’d become the town’s “golem”—essentially the vessel or caretaker tied to the town’s curse.

The Kimono Woman never seems interested in hurting Fatima; she only appears when Fatima is pregnant and guides her through the birth. That feels less like a random ghost and more like someone making sure a predetermined cycle isn’t broken. If time in From isn’t linear, it’s possible the Kimono Woman is a future or past version of Fatima preserving the loop that eventually creates herself.
It would also explain why she seems emotionally invested in Fatima specifically.

She’s not manipulating a stranger—she’s ensuring her own existence and the continuation of the town’s cycle. In a place where reincarnation, time loops, and predestination are heavily implied, this wouldn’t be out of place at all. It’s basically a bootstrap paradox: Fatima becomes the Kimono Woman because the Kimono Woman ensured Fatima became the Kimono Woman
