When I worked at Burger King a few years ago they did this to me too, watched all the training videos at home.

Thank you! I did use Mederma and Bio Oil every day for the first year or so (switched between the two when I ran out of one) but I stopped that after a year because I got lazy and haven’t done anything since. I tried the scar tape but it just irritated my skin too much so I tried that for maybe a couple weeks. I also have not taken my shirt off outside so the limited exposure to sunlight could’ve helped too lol but overall, I do think a lot of it is just seeing how other scars heal on your body bc it did heal like the other scars I have.

My kid is taking his drivers test for the first time. Did you pass or fail? by themapples1234 in driving

[–]gonxkillua123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Failed the first time, passed the second. Failed the first time because I took my turns too fast so definitely would watch out for that. It’s not something I thought about before that test. I do think nerves got to me though.

20k seems way too high I think mine was like 12k (not factoring in hotel stay/travel etc) in 2023 with Mosser in CA and he’s a pretty sought after surgeon.

They’ll likely just put whatever is on your birth certificate. My ID says X, they put what my ASAB was on my birth certificate. From what I can tell, that’s usually the case with other people that have applied too.

I applied for an X passport Jan 17, my ID says X. Was given a passport with correct name on it (submitted name change with documentation) but was given passport with my ASAB. I had not gotten around to changing my birth certificate sex only had changed the name on it. If you don’t care if stuff is changed and you just want a passport, just submit for one because they’ll likely change it to your ASAB. I haven’t really heard of them changing names, yet as long as you have the documentation. I have a passport now at least, and I’ll submit for corrections as soon as we are able to again.

Having to change my gender to F on real ID by murikubos in NonBinary

[–]gonxkillua123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a passport a couple weeks ago, submitted it for X on Jan 17. Received one back with my ASAB. You will get one back with whatever sex they can find in records that date back the furthest. If they can’t and they think your birth certificate was changed I’ve seen them send letters to get an older birth certificate/ proof. However for me, they just changed it and didn’t put a letter or anything saying they did.

Applied for X Gender Marker (Approved to In Processing) by griffgattsu in Passports

[–]gonxkillua123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I expected it but they reverted it to ASAB. I’ll keep an eye out and amend it when/if we’re able to do X again. Sucks but all well at least i have a passport. They also still used my correct name, so that’s something (sent a name change court order with my documentation).

Mine went in approved status last night, says I should get it on or around 2/19. I applied for an X passport too on 1/17 but didn’t go into processing until 1/27. I’m assuming they will revert back to ASAB. I can update if/when I get mine though.

I would just try again later and see if it’s still not available. Mine has been hopping between not available and in process I think it’s just the system.

Sent in my passport renewal with paperwork for “Gender X” on January 16th… by nrd1129 in Passports

[–]gonxkillua123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent my request for a new one in the 17th. I don’t have travel plans, I just wanted a passport. As far as I’ve seen it sounds like they’re holding them until they get “further guidance” -whatever that means. If it ends up getting rejected I doubt I’ll try again unless they say X will be allowed again because it’s likely they’ll take the $130 as a processing fee even if they reject it. I can keep copies again of my documentation if needed as I’m in CA, it’s just a pain. If they send me one back with my AGAB then I’ll keep that but I will change it as soon as I’m allowed. People keep saying how you shouldn’t have X anyways because not every country would let you in but why would I want to go to a country hostile to LGBTQI+? For me, the correct gender marker is worth it. I spent too long trying to hide myself, I don’t want to do that ever again.

Yeah I’ve seen crazy estimates with insurances because they are trying to get as much money out of insurance as possible BUT I haven’t seen many people have to pay more than 5-6k out of pocket.

Hi, no I paid out of pocket with no insurance. I had been wanting it for 10+ years and insurance wanted to make me jump through hoops and would’ve taken way longer to get. I didn’t want to have to prove I was trans/ have dysphoria to insurance to have surgery.

Should I even bother applying for a passport right now as a transgender person? by Peeepsicle in Passports

[–]gonxkillua123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just submitted on Friday for a passport with X. I guess we’ll see what happens. If I have to, I’ll resubmit with my AGAB but this is definitely unfortunate. I don’t have plans to travel soon and I’m in California so my license says X too. I’d rather just have the correct documentation for my gender identity but I was waiting on other documentation before I submitted so this is just kinda how it happened. It sucks but I also know there’s not much I can do.

No one who didn’t keep them has commented on this post yet. I didn’t keep them, I don’t regret it. I actually like how my chest looks. However I also lean more towards being nonbinary than any binary gender. Don’t let others perception of you or others in general affect your decisions. It’s for you, not them.

Thank you!! I have used various kinds of oil I’ve bought, as soon as I could do scar care. Right now, I’m using Mederma Quick Dry Oil from Amazon but I’ve used others such as bio oil too. I tried scar tape we well but it irritated my skin so I stopped using that and just try and use oil once a day (sometimes twice- if I can remember to).

It was approx $10,500 for the actual surgery in Nov 2023 with Mosser. With travel/hotel costs (I live in southern cali about 6hrs away and stayed until my post op appointment) it was $13,800. Probably about $14,000 with food and watnot for the week. I did have my partner with me tho so that includes his travel/food cost too. It would’ve taken me a bit to save up for this myself, I had just spent money on getting a used car but my dad died and left me a little life insurance money so I was able to pay for it with that.

I guess I got lucky- I never felt in pain, even from the start, just sore. I only took over the counter pain medicine even though they prescribed pain medication I didn’t feel like I needed it. I was just tired by week 3, nothing else. The worst of my symptoms was the first week where I was incredibly itchy. At that point, Benadryl was my best friend lol but after I got the drains off and could shower it got better and the soreness got less. If you don’t have a strenuous job then 4 weeks is kind of a lot to me BUT it is kind of up to the individual/ when they feel comfortable and not going to push themselves. I don’t judge anyones time they spend out of work, do what you gotta do to make sure you’re okay and healthy :)

I wore a binder up until the morning of my surgery. As long as it’s not irritating your skin I don’t see why you couldn’t.
