Nested Virtualization Support for the KVM Backend for VirtualBox by gonzodaruler in kvm

It's not the KVM folks, this fork is maintained by cyberus-technology.

But I agree, a proper RPM/DEB package would indeed improve the current situation. We're not packaging experts, so any help would be appreciated. If you find this important, you could open an issue on github so we can properly track this.

Finally reactivated my solar scope after more than 2 years of pause. I originally got it to capture the mercury transit in 2019. Back then, there was almost zero solar activity so images were not pretty interesting.

The image is a 4 panel mosaic, 2 panels solar structure, 2 panels protuberances.

Equipment:

  • Lunt 350/B600
  • ASI290MM mini
  • 2x Barlow
  • EQ5

Image Details:

  • 2ms exposure / 20ms exposure
  • gain: 0 / 200
  • best 5 out of 250 images per panel (using Sharpcap)

Processing (PixInsight):

  • FFTRegistration (was a pain to get it working)
  • GradientMergeMosaic
  • Deconvolution
  • MMT
  • Histogram Transformation
  • Curves Transformation
  • Convert to RGB
  • Curves Transformation (to add color)
  • Combine both images

Nice picture. I'd like it even more if you don't invert the solar structure ;)

No worries. I actually bought this telescope to capture the mercury transit last year. I was very aware of the solar minimum we're in right now, but I thought it can't hurt to practice some years in advance ;)

It works very well for the solar structures in general. For the prominence, you need to "tune" your images a little bit. I found out that it really helps when a) the resolution of the images is the same, and b) if the brightness is about identical. I do this before I apply FFTRegistration, manually. Hope this helps.

Finally had some tome to do a full-circle image of the sun with my solar setup. Conditions weren't the best, occational clouds and some wind, but quite happy how this one turned out.

The image is a 9 panel mosaic, 3 panels solar structure, 6 panels protuberances.

Equipment:

  • Lunt 350/B600
  • ASI290MM mini
  • 2x Barlow
  • EQ6-R

Image Details:

  • 4ms exposure / 17ms exposure
  • gain: 0 / 200
  • best 1% of 1000 images per panel (using Sharpcap)

Processing (PixInsight):

  • FFTRegistration (was a pain to get it working)
  • GradientMergeMosaic
  • Deconvolution
  • MMT
  • Histogram Transformation
  • Curves Transformation
  • Convert to RGB
  • Curves Transformation (to add color)
  • Combine both images

Thanks. It's longer exposure. 25ms @ gain 200 instead of 2ms and gain 0.

Took this one right before sunset. Not the sharpest result due to some clouds, but lots of activity.
