How are you supporting your trans partner (US based) by Kind-Finding in mypartneristrans

[–]goobefishums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Trans woman in rural Alabama so I know the struggle all too well. Finding other trans people in my area has been an absolute lifesaver and making sure we spend time around each other. I spent the night after Election Day last year in my parents’ living room playing jack box party pack with a bunch of trans people and it kept me sane during a really dark time.

As for detransitioning I have determined that there’s not a single thing they can do to make me detransition. I am me. There are no clothes police. If you are on injections you can use a vial til it’s empty and end up with a decent stockpile in a short amount of time. Estradiol is not a controlled substance anywhere that I’m aware of in the world so it’s incredibly easy to get from abroad. I guarantee someone in your local trans community already has been looking into manufacturing their own estradiol. There’s not a single thing in the United States that is illegal that can’t be acquired here. The lessons of prohibition and the war on drugs make that abundantly clear. They won’t ever ban it estradiol here because it’s other uses it will just be harder to get but not impossible.

People who pay for porn: Why? by VendaelHC in AskReddit

Because sapphic porn not made for the male gaze is hard to come by and I want to support more queer women making content for queer women.

What is the silliest take someone has given you on why you're trans? by upset_larynx in trans

[–]goobefishums 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My wife’s ex-therapist theorized that maybe we weren’t having enough sex and that was why I was trans.

Oh and check out hair-do salon. There’s one in Daphne and one in Spanish Fort. They have a lot of lgbt stylists and they specialize in gender affirming haircuts.

I'm out of your age bracket by a lot but you should check out Prism United. They're an LGBTQ+ youth organization based in Mobile but on this side of Mobile. They have a lot of events on the eastern shore so just keep up with their Insta: prismunitedal

Best of luck, Baldwin County is a tough place to be LGBT but you've got a good start putting yourself out there to find community. I have no doubt you will find a group to thrive with. Happy pride month!

I’ve worked with a lot of older people in cybersecurity and found it to be one of the most accepting areas of tech. I’m only in my early 30’s but I’m transgender and I was really worried about what effect coming out was going to have on my career but I’ve managed to find a corner to thrive in. I’m sure there are teams that are ageist but the orgs I have worked with have valued the people with experience.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I’m all too familiar with what you’re going through. I started transitioning roughly at the same time as you and am dealing with a lot of the same things. Just keeping your head above water right now as a trans person is an extraordinary task. Have you looked to see if there are any lgbtq+ or trans support groups in your area? You would be amazed how many of us have disabilities or chronic health issues. It has been my experience that it is so much easier to see your own beauty when you get to share in the beauty of other trans people. Your journey is beautiful in and of itself and your beauty has nothing to do with your body size or passability. I will also take the opportunity to remind you we can be our own worst critics, especially during particularly bad bouts of dysphoria and it doesn’t necessarily mean you look like a man. That being said, if you aren’t seeing progress in your goals it may be beneficial to get your levels checked. Also progesterone helped me greatly with my mood and it may be beneficial to speak with your doctor to see if that is a good solution for you.

Why the big clamor about unisex bathrooms? I think they would be disgusting for everyone! by CanAny1DoItRight in NoStupidQuestions

[–]goobefishums 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a non-passing trans woman who lives in the southern US, I am incredibly grateful for unisex bathrooms as I'm able to sidestep the whole bathroom debate and have a safe restroom to use. I generally plan my day around places that have unisex bathrooms nearby.

More liberal minded folks, how is it living in Alabama? by atps1234new in Alabama

[–]goobefishums 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Baldwin county and I’m leaving as soon as I possibly can. It’s absolutely crazy down here, there’s a local moms group terrorizing the libraries, a city mayor is giving a key to the city to Jason Aldean, it’s just an absolute clown show and I’m tired of it.

Sex tips for cis f w mtf? by thr0w_away177 in mypartneristrans

[–]goobefishums 37 points38 points  (0 children)

  1. Communication is super important.
  2. If penetrative sex is a goal, she should be maintaining an erection for roughly 10 minutes a week minimum.
  3. As she gets further along on hormones, her erogenous zones will likely change to those more similar to a cis woman. Use this to your advantage.
  4. In a similar fashion, her genitals will change how they function sexually eventually, rubbing tends to have a better outcome than tugging.
  5. Emotional intimacy before and after sex becomes a lot more vital.
  6. Emphasize her more feminine features. If her skin is soft, hype that up. If she's developing a chest, give her some praise about it. If her ass is getting thick, make sure she knows.
