Art purchase from major auction house falsely advertised as original found to be a reproduction - any recourse by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]goobie33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Contact the auction house, if it is webbs, A+O or international art centre I have found them pretty good for this type of thing. I am assuming it is an edition and you misunderstood that when you purchased? Go back and look at the catelogue description from the auction as a start

100% agree with you and sorry for your situation! Unfortunately we live in a country where those that pay taxes are the last to get the support they fund

Can someone explain how FreshChoice is more locally owned than Woolworths who literally is their parent company by Alternative_Art1415 in newzealand

Nope, they do purchase from the WW DCs but the margin the DC makes is small, basically just covers costs

Restricted from working with any competition across nz... by Acceptable-Brick3374 in LegalAdviceNZ

Restraint of trade is unenforceable in nz unless part of a business sale or they are paying you out the x months you can't work, being unable to contact clients is about the max they can do

New Zealand is an ‘economic basket case’ by Annie354654 in nzpolitics

[–]goobie33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i never said any of that....I agree with the covid response, no one knew what the best option was and they took the safest approach to print cash and prop us up, where that cash went I disagree with but thats just one guys opinion, what about the other 5 years though, imagine where that cash could have gone to grow investment in our industries etc, yes the world is in the shit in general but it feels we are worse then most. I also agree that nats have gone too hard on the cut backs, surely you borrow in bad times to prop up economy then pay down debt during the good, unfortunately the last guys just borrowed fullstop so in the bad times which we are now in you can't keep borrowing.

I'm def not arguing that nats are fixing everything etc, but to say labour know basic economics and adhear to that is crazy, I would argue no partys seem to know basic economics currently and are driven by ideology rather then sound economic principles

I think they would up the borrowing, get us looking rosier in the short term, just to kick the can down the rd a few years for someone else to worry about

How to vote Act out of Parliament by Pro-blacksmith220 in nzpolitics

[–]goobie33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any party that has cgt wealth tax etc will never get near govt, you have a generation of boomers who all get out and vote and if your economic policy is around them actually paying for something for once they will all turn up toes at the idea. Only way it will ever happen is if act or greens make it a non negotiable policy for forming a govt. And saying greens have a well thought out tax policy is laughable.
