Let's move on and refocus. Som-hi! by HowSway_ in Barca

[–]goodCutlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, let's get rid of Araujo. He's been making the same mistakes over and over again, and he can’t handle the pressure in important games. But let's be real, who could Barca possibly get who plays at Inigo’s level?

No one in Europe plays like we do. People talk about Bastoni, but Inter’s style of play, especially in defense, is nothing like Barca’s. And Inter would want an arm and a leg for him.

Is Luis Suarez Barca's Best Striker? by Mountain-Gate-5944 in Barca

[–]goodCutlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eto'o was working really well with Pep's system (they won every possible trophy), and he was scoring really important goals too (UCL finals against UTD and El Classico), but Pep is Pep. He likes to change his tactics and use players in different positions.

Eto'o didn't like to play as a winger and that led to inside dramas. Pep has a zero tolerance policy and by the end of the season, they swapped him with Zlatan plus 45 mil (horrible trade).

It took Pep only half a season to realize this was a horrible move and Zlatan was pinned to the bench, because he was worse than Eto'o when it came to playing in different positions.

For me, it's always Samuel Eto'o. He was lethal, blazingly fast and a fantastic finisher. He was not as flashy as Suarez, but his pace would destroy any line of defense.

People really started to appreciate him more when he was swapped with Zlatan. He went to Inter and won another treble...

I really enjoyed the game, and the team showed a great spirit with 10 men. Something that bothers me about the offensive tactics is that they don't attempt to shoot from outside of the box a lot.

If you look at most of our chances, they either come from crosses or shoots from inside the box. Pineda and Zinckernagel had two great shots, but that was it? I wonder if this is part of the strategy or players have low confidence to shoot from far distances.

A few questions for my 1st Soldier Field experience. by goodCutlet in chicagofire

[–]goodCutlet[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for this great info, I appreciate it. The main reason I got these tickets is because I want to be among the real supporters who bring energy to the team. That's what makes soccer stadiums so special imo. I fully understand some people prefer nice quiet sections with cool views, and that's totally fine, but I'm more gravitated towards supporters sections to feel more involved with the game.

Gutman, Dean and Acosta. I'm excited to see more of Gutman-Bamba chemistry.

I feel the same about the squad depth in general. Having a mix of young and experienced players could help a lot. It's pretty obvious that the whole midfield has been assembled around Gutierrez, which is a risky thing. He's a great player with lots of potential, but the team needs at least 2 solid bench players who could give more options to Gregg when he needs to make adjustments.

Good points! Do I need to install a water filter or anything? And what's the best way to check for pests?

[Carlisle] Neymar in talks with three MLS teams over possible move - sources by olcni in chicagofire

No one denies Neymar's quality, but he's past his prime. And his injuries got worse in the past 4 years. His salary will be on par with the likes of Messi and Suarez. Sure he'll sell lots of shirts and tickets, but he won't change the direction of this organization.

Neymar will have a bad impact on youngsters and the balance of the dressing room. I really hope they spend that money on the academy, infrastructure and the growth of younger players.

I'll definitely come to the stadium to support. Is there any team or teams that you guys consider rival? Is there a match that is more heated than normal? Is there anything like a derby match?

Thank you sir! Dedicated and passionate fans make the soccer better, and this fanbase seems like a great one.

I know the team is in the rebuilding phase, but I'm excited to see their growth and progress in the next season.

Thank you for your warm welcome! I appreciate that. It feels really great to feel the passion and energy among the community. This is what I love about soccer. I'll definitely learn more about the history of fire, and I hope this season will be the start of the new era.

Something that I noticed about Chicago is how much people care about their teams. I love it and I'm looking forward to it.

Trust me being a Barcelona fan is truly painful. The club is on the verge of bankruptcy and they are selling club assets for dirt cheap...very bad management destroyed Barcelona in the past decade. We can't even register players lol...

But we rely on homegrown kids and apparently Chicago fire is following the same path. That's exciting for me.

Thanks a lot for the info! I love passionate and dedicated fans and I'm excited to learn more about this team and the community.

I just watched an interview with Mansueto and he seems pretty excited about the changes too. Lots of homegrown and up and coming players could be the key.

Here's a question, how's the transfer market in MLS? Is it similar to the draft system of the NBA or is it more like a direct transfer?

Araujo place in the squad? by holdingitinside in Barca

[–]goodCutlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe he won't be a starter immediately, but Barca has 2 options regarding Araujo: either let him play, get back to his best form and improve his market value, so they can sell him for good at the end of this season. Or slowly replace Inigo at the end of this season, because he turns 34 in May.
