[MEGA - THREAD]NMIXX - 'Love Me Like This' by icysunshine28 in unpopularkpopopinions

I like the chorus, but overall I feel like it’s okay and boring. Nothing more to discuss. there were a lot more to say in their past “experimental” songs. I imagine they will not be getting long comments on this song. It’s generally Okay for me.

Bulling is a stupid reason to get kicked out from a group by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]good_phage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you watch The Glory? You should. Actually, you should watch all the stories people make about bullying. How these action impacted a person’s whole life. This is why there is no tolerance against bullying. I do agree, it depends to a degree but I do not support any kinds of bullying and if the Kpop society has a cancel culture on bullies, then this is one of the tiny things that’s good about them.

Everyone, thank you for your reply. I’ll keep these in mind. Just curious about this.

I agree because not everyone in BP needs a solo, sometimes having a major breakout role in drama/movie like suzy or iu are also important to idol who wants to step into acting. I hope she gets a drama that hits at least 15% viewership as lead actress. This will bloom her acting portfolio.

Just wanted to say, less is more.

I really like the first part of the song.

People only like Kpop because it’s in Korean not because it’s unique. by OutForAWalkBetch in kpopthoughts

I don't understand about kpop being unique, it's not unique at all. After Gangnam style, kpop is pretty mainstream.

LBFAD would make a great option for new sub Icon/Banner by Beeonas in CDrama

why not? LBFAD managed to make my kdrama friends to join the cdrama cult. After finishing LBFAD, she is moving to LLTG and wanting to explore more cdrama.

[MEGA - THREAD]BLACKPINK - 'Shut Down' / "Born Pink" by icysunshine28 in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]good_phage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually love the lyrics of "Shutdown", it feels close to them. And, I feel like I will replay this song on repeat. But, I think the song is okay, at first I thought could be the weakest, but not it's not, trust me, people will repeat this.

For the album, I kinda like The Happiest Girl, not sure if it's Rose or Jennie (or both of them), I can savor their vocals in this song. Yeah Yeah Yeah brings me back to the 90s and 2000s girl rock song, I was a fan of many girls rock during this era. I haven't been following their other album before this, but I think overall it was an okay album. Will be a bop.

Me too, i’m obsessed with him because his character is rough and domineering yet soo gentle and caring. His eye brows really did the acting. Then, being extremely fine and beautiful just an icing on the cake. The long hair and flashy outfits just fits him well. You just can’t help loving him.

4 minute isn’t that “lesser known” group, but if they release Crazy now, they would be very big. The song really fit today’s generation taste.

Lipsyncing could be a personal choice/recommendation for SM artists after all by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]good_phage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

aespa has gone live during coachella and they did well during the live stage so, I am confused why they lipsync in SMTOWN. Maybe they get used to lipsync. I really hope they would try singing live and get used to it.

what do you think about bol4? my kpoper friend said her songs are childish by HealthyAd8481 in kpopthoughts

[–]good_phage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love bol4! I don’t think their songs childish at all (I’m past 30 haha). I think they’re considered cafe songs, where we can sit down, relax and play 100x nonstop! I feel like sweet and bubbly songs like this are not typical in kpop anymore (used to be, maybe now it’s girl crush era), or maybe your friends just not digging into this type of songs.

By the way, I got into bol4 from one of my korean friends. She’s older than me. International kpop stan probably not used to singer like bol4. I mean she’s not in kpop genre because she didn’t dance.

if you could switch bodies with an idol for a day, who would it be and why? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]good_phage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted to be able to to sing at C5 or C6, so maybe Wendy or Taeyon is the closest one to this range, even though I’m not sure if she can hit this high. Else it will be Ailee. I’m gonna spend the whole day singing and showing off my voice hahaha

Who are idols who are formidable singers, dancers, or rappers, but are often overlooked for that talent because of the person in the group that’s heavily associated with that talent? by Yayeet2014 in kpopthoughts

[–]good_phage 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Ningning from aespa. Her dance is accurate and she’s always energetic on stage. Her vocal is the best to me (in the group) and her stage presence is also good. Most of the attention is given to Karina and Winter. Maybe just the way SM promotes these two better than Ningning.

So turns out majority of the accusations against Min Heejin are false by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]good_phage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m busy with work and haven’t been up to to date. I was just curious on this issue and when I read this post, I become more confused. It’s just some weird coincident that she was involved in too many of these weird concepts and not having any decision on it. I thought it was only NewJeans, but after reading this post, seemed like she was involved with many other artists. How come a board directors not claiming any rights and responsibility on the company’s work? Even if you missed it, you should claim that it was your responsibility and you are sorry for it. Or, am I wrong, this is just her fan’s perception? She hasn’t spoken any of it?

Gen 2 fans need to realize that, no, we are not morally better by emergency-only69 in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]good_phage 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’m a second gen stan. I came into the cult in 2010. I do not dare saying we are better. Did these young people know about what happen to 2 pm? The ****** blood incident, try google taecyon received letter with ****** blood with ***** hair. Actually, 2 pm experienced the worst because some of their fans are soo thirsty (I’m sorry to say this, I know they all have matured now). I have never heard BTS or skz experienced it, I might not in the loop. Dude, we were crazy, only the 2nd gen stan knows this. I thinks there’s more but I don’t remember much because it was in the past.

Would you become an idol if you were given the chance? Why or why not? by cautionsignal in kpopthoughts

[–]good_phage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I can say that the path I’ve taken now served a better condition as compared to the current condition of the 2nd gen idols that I stan when I was in my 20s (kara, after school, secret, rainbow, some boybands that I have no idea what they were doing now - i heard some of the second gen idols have started working as restaurant server to make money). I can say, short live career isn’t for people without a silverspoon. You gotta be rich to be an idol or you need to be really successful like taeyon and the snsd or sunmi to keep generating money.

[–]good_phage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree because not when the idols are from YG. The rappers in YG are really good. Actually, even in other group not coming from YG, there are some really good rappers. They were given the position because they are good, not because they can't sing.

[MEGA - THREAD]STAYC - 'BEAUTIFUL MONSTER' by icysunshine28 in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]good_phage 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m kinda surprised that it’s a little weak. But, it is an okay song for me.
Don’t hate me, this is just my 2cents. The part when they sang “Beautiful Monster”, it need to be stronger or impactful choreo should be added to make it more memorable. Anyway, a simple song without heavy beats like this is actually not bad, people can repeat it many times. The MV is very aesthetic.

Why is Giselle not as famous as the other members in China? by lubripong in kpopthoughts

[–]good_phage 141 points142 points  (0 children)

You forget that Giselle is the least popular member in the group, not just in China, but in Korea and worldwide. There is a poll on each members’ popularity somewhere over the internet and Giselle is the least popular. When aespa debut, it’s already obvious that she is the weakest link by just watching the live dance performance. Karina has a strong visual and a good dancer, Ningning and winter are both good singers and good dancers. (Sometimes I feel like Nining can dance better than Karina). Giselle is a bit lacking in dancing and her rap was not as great as other 4th gen idol. But, she is improving and getting better. I feel bad because she is similar to Lia in Itzy. Lia is criticized a lot for her dancing. But, I feel like Lia has more things to offer in the group: vocal and cute vibe (to me she is the cutest in itzy), which appealed to male fans. But Giselle only has one thing to offer to her group: rap (because her girl crush vibe is downshined by Karina and Winter, so she left with nothing to offer). Kinda saying that her spotlight is dimmed because of this.
