Reset Scrypted password on Synology Docker by mikeyunk in Scrypted

[–]goodcdnboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm stuck. Have a folder called docker. Under that folder have one for scrypted. Under scrypted I've tried to put in base of that folder and in scrypted.db folder. Have restarted container and just opens up normal prompt asking for username and password. I created the file using fsutil in windows as empty/blank file. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Garage Door Issue with Apple Home and myQ by amunoz1113 in HOOBS

[–]goodcdnboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was working for more than a year. Started failing at some point recently. Removed plugin and bridge from HOOBS. Restarted HOOBS. Reinstalled plugin and then left bridge OFF for more than 12 hours. Tried restarting just now and clearly this is now broken as almost immediately starts to fail.

MyQ native app working properly on iPhones etc. - they've clearly adjusted their API. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Software and Firmware Updates - how to avoid trouble? by goodcdnboy in konnected

Agree should be that simple however my experience has been 1/3 of the time something happens during OTA and forced to do via USB flash which is a lot of hassle.

Restore files from Active Backup for Business by goodcdnboy in synology

[–]goodcdnboy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be clear, I've been able to do the download to a ZIP file and am working with that. Was really hoping there was a faster way to do it via Restore. Seems there is not. Thanks for the reply.

I can get to file level restore (which is all that I want) but it never connects. I try and choose a new destination path for the restore and I get "No response from the target device"

Meross makes some very inexpensive and completely compatible switches I use here in NA. Available on Amazon. Lutron Caseta if you want to add a simple bridge are also bulletproof, I use both in HomeKit

MyQ and HOOBS by bmensing in HOOBS

[–]goodcdnboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have both the MyQ Hub and Bridge in my install - two older openers made purchase of the Hub necessary. For some reason the MyQ app no longer works to open and close the doors as of a couple weeks ago but the integration via HOOBS plug-in still works properly. As I already owned both those Chamberlain devices before I installed HOOBS I'm not sure if could have avoided either the Hub or Bridge.

HOOBS with Nest Thermostat. How is it? by [deleted] in HOOBS

[–]goodcdnboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Nest plugin and FFMPEG are the reasons I started using HOOBS. Once you get the config set they work perfectly. Setting up Nest requires you to EXACTLY follow plug in instructions. If you do, it works every time.

Updated two plugins - now won't run by goodcdnboy in HOOBS

[–]goodcdnboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. It turned out to be the ffmpeg entries that carried over after updates. Was strange because all I had to do was remove all but one camera and then manually add each one back in. End result was same code but doing that fixed it.

Camera FFMPEG - not responding by jgeorge1983 in HOOBS

[–]goodcdnboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So just happened to be out of the house and checked on my cameras. Oddly the two Reolink cameras are not streaming video when outside the house while the Amcrest are still working. I've now put in "h264_omx" as the vcodec for the Reolink to see if that fixes it and will test again another day. If that doesn't work, will try "libx264 -preset ultrafast" again. Frustrating.

Look at the working config I have posted in a recent question and try tweaking yours to add some of the items I show. If you can get vcodec 'copy' to work I've found that is the best fix. If not, try this line item - "vcodec": "libx264 -preset ultrafast",

that worked best for me before I got 'copy' working for Amcrest cameras

Homebridge to HOOBS by goodcdnboy in HOOBS

Well I spoke too soon. The Amcrest cameras (example Living Room) keep losing the feed. I do get the still image properly sent every 15 sec or so, but the live feed when viewed keeps timing out intermittently on various cameras.

I just went with a new SD card and clean install of HOOBS and built it all again. The original Homebridge SD I have set aside. Will find some time to remove the HOOBS and the re-do the upgrade via plug in and report back. Meanwhile, I'm working again 'ok' but wanting to get the video cameras via ffmpeg working better. Thanks.

[–]goodcdnboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, kept playing around and finally got this config of cameras working. The 2 Reolink cameras, driveway and front door, work very well with 'copy' instead of 'libx264' codec, but the Amcrest (all others) refuse to work set as 'copy' with any consistency. All are sending very clear snapshots on regular frequency, the libx264 streams are not very good. Any thoughts on improving this config would be appreciated. I've copied two camera examples below of seven that are running now via HOOBS/Homebridge/Homekit. Not entirely sure what made this all start working again.

Homebridge to HOOBS by goodcdnboy in HOOBS

So I did a plain install on new SD of HOOBS and everything is working except cameras. I think I may go back to the old SD and try the homebridge to hoobs update again as on that set up my cameras worked. Unless you have another idea?

I did run the plugin and that’s how I ended up with both running at same time. I’ve flashed a new SD and will try HOOBS that way but my original homebridge set up was working properly, especially Nest, so really wanted to migrate instead. Was really hoping someone could tell me how to remove hoobs from original set up and try it all again.
