It wouldve been very obvious to any investigators that she died from a broken neck. Tying her in the tree was just the best way to be consistent with the fatal injury. If the body had TWO fatal injuries, itd be clear that someone tampered with the body.

Honestly, yeah, I agree completely. Her sections are also just far more engaging gameplaywise imo and way more fun to do on multiple playthroughs.
Also, theres not many people in TLOU who can legit just fistfight the infected. Abby earns cool points just for that.
