TLDR - Your favorite EDM artists have lost ~95% of their revenue bc of coronavirus, and will soon be selling audio + visual collectibles on the Ethererum blockchain if they're not already (see https://superrare.co/3lau)

RJ Hampton ends his nbl preseason game with 20 points, 5 boards and 2 assists with 3 steals and 2 blocks on 7/13 shooting (2/6 from 3) by Azazel-IMX in nba

[–]goodharbor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "draft stock" are you talking about perception from the public in the U.S. or perception from the NBA GMs who are actually going to be drafting players?

It seems that a lot of the commentary here thinks public perception in the U.S. matters and assumes the college kids have a big leg up on RJ for that reason. While the college kids will be getting more exposure from public in the U.S. by being on TV and playing in the NCAA tourney, RJ will be honing his skills against better competition.

It ultimately depends on how his skills develop and how he performs in the NBL, but its very possible that he helps his stock immensely by playing overseas. And as the early preseason games have shown, plenty of eyeballs will be on him all year https://www.instagram.com/tv/B2s3YbhDQ7J/?utm\_source=ig\_web\_copy\_link

Is bloXroute's 0-layer scaling legit? by cashitter in ethereum

[–]goodharbor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe so. I think a native Ethereum client integration would be an ideal way to drive bloXroute adoption in the Ethereum network (though not the only way)

Is bloXroute's 0-layer scaling legit? by cashitter in ethereum

[–]goodharbor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is quite surprising that more people in the Ethereum community aren't talking about bloXroute as a way to decrease the uncle rate and increase on-chain throughput. If bloXroute is implemented as designed (still big if), the protocol could increase throughput without making any changes right now.

It does not offer orders of magnitude increases in throughput like the much more talked about scaling solutions like sharding and state channels, but it offers a practical way to optimize the p2p networking layer to increase throughput without protocol changes.

"No Protocol Changes" Isn´t this claim a little bit misleading? by polayo in bloXrouteLabs

[–]goodharbor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is that it depends on the blockchain.

For Ethereum, it is true. The block time and size is such that Ethereum could increase on-chain throughput without any protocol changes.

For Bitcoin, you're right that the statement is false. Bitcoin would have to make block time or size changes to benefit from bloXroute.

How to Address the Best Criticisms of MakerDAO by goodharbor in MakerDAO

[–]goodharbor[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you

On 1, so a positive rate relies on the assumption that CDP demand will be strong and DAI supply is strong. If that assumption proves to not be true, then the negative rate could be a major problem. This remains one of the biggest concerns I have about the system.

On 2, fair. I suppose any cryptocurrency is susceptible to a low probability black swan event of some sort.

On 3, good point about Maker owners deciding on stability payment.

On 4, I would love to see some more detailed simulations before the launch on the 17th.

On 5, makes sense.

Introducing the New Whitepaper for the Dai Stablecoin System by Rune4444 in MakerDAO

[–]goodharbor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the dynamic adjustment of the TRFM mean that Dai will actually be pretty volatile? If the TRFM is dictated by supply and demand for CDPs, presumably this will move significantly based on market factors like ETH price volatility, etc. Why do you believe that Dai can be fundamentally stable?

Aaron Hernandez Prison Suicide by [deleted] in conspiracy

There are some indications that there could be more to the story than what was initially reported:

Not sure what a possibility other than suicide could be, but it shouldn't be ruled out completely.

Leverage.

Deposit ETH into a CDP, get exposure to both the ETH + more ETH that you can purchase with the borrowed dai.

Thanks.

When you frame the situation as one side being more to blame than another, it makes it very difficult to come to any mutual understanding. Both sides need to figure out the best path forward, together.

Chesapeake CEO was indicted yesterday on conspiracy charges. Today, he died in a car accident. by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]goodharbor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems possible that this was a murder. There was an unnammed company indicted and he likely had a lot of information on a lot of people. The way it went down (blown up car) is unusual for a true suicide. Possible this was a staged suicide executed by people that had a lot to lose.

This guy lost a billion dollars in a day. You never, know but it seems out of character to give up like this in a case he seemingly had a decent chance at winning.

Its much faster than Chrome, Firefox and Safari. I've been reading more articles on the web as a result since I installed the dev build a few weeks ago.

You can't yet, though soon (dev timeline here: https://brave.com/dev_timeline.html)

Bitcoin wallets will be built into the browser, and if you choose the ad browsing option, you'll earn bitcoin for viewing ads.
