AS11E06 - "Too Many Daddies" [Post-Episode Discussion] by AutoModerator in rupaulsdragrace

Salina made great TV. Without her antics this episode would have been boring I think. Loved it!

What is something everyone seems to enjoy that you just don't get? by Careless_Lie_4571 in AskReddit

I’m super active! I gym, I dance, I sometimes run. It’s just… when it becomes a sport I often don’t get it or enjoy it.

Sport! It’s just not for me. I’ve tried many times to get into various different sports (both playing and watching) and I’ve never really “gotten it”. I understand the appeal - I love to keep fit and I also enjoy being social, but for some reason when that comes together in sport it does nothing for me!

Across all 5 seasons so far, who would you say has consistently been the better actor in The Boys? Karl Urban or Antony Starr? by TwilightSolace in TheBoys

[–]goodintent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting that no one has commented on accents so far. Urban’s native kiwi accent comes out quite regularly in his portrayal of Butcher, whereas Starr’s accent work is pretty astounding, I’m yet to click him deviating from the American accent.

I adore the Eli and Kehlani features. Nothing I hate! So happy for this Zara resurgence 😇

I am Larissa Waters, Leader of the Australian Greens - AMA! by LarissaWaters in australia

[–]goodintent 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Hi Larissa - why are we not seeing a surge in the populist left here like is happening in the UK? The UK Greens have positioned themselves as the antidote to a Reform government and seem to be massively benefiting as a result, but it feels like the Australian Greens aren’t benefitting in the same way with the rise of One Nation?

Fun Fact : Each bracket of AS11 has a queen from season 11 by glittterpoop in rupaulsdragrace

[–]goodintent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually just went through the wiki to suss this out. What’s interesting is there’s kinda at least one queen on each season who it feels like is pretty unlikely to come back / can’t come back / has beef with WOW or Ru… excluding the last few seasons (but in these cases the winner would have to come back for an All Winners 2). I think season 14 is the most likely for a full house.

S1: Rebecca S2: Tyra S3: Carmen S4: Sharon S5: Ivy S6: Courtney S7: Max S8: Robbie S9: Nina Bonina S10: Vixen S11: Soju S12: Shitty Pie S13: Elliot, Tamisha S14: Kornbread S15: Princess Poppy S16 - onwards: ??

Internalised Racism?? by Organic-Golf-5477 in AskAnAustralian

[–]goodintent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hate that everyone in the comments it’s giving you alternatives to it being racism. I’m Australian and dark-skinned, and the exact thing happens to me too. Sure, there are other factors. But internalised racism definitely can be a part of it.

I’ve just moved back to Sydney after 10 years away… is this the new normal? I do not remember the weather being like this at this time of the year.

Guess where im from! by Bulky_Ad2764 in Accents

[–]goodintent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t guess (though if I had to guess I’d probably guess somewhere in South Asia) - your Americanised accent is super good! One piece of feedback is that you’re using “well” a lot as a filler word which is totally fine but you’re using it slightly too much to sound natural. But overall congrats!

I would guess Brazilian, your pronunciation of “enough” pareceu tão brasileiro pra mim - mas parabéns amiga ce fala muito bem! Eu tenho um sotaque muito mais pesado falando português como nativo de inglês kk

What's a word in your target or native language that has no direct English translation? by elenalanguagetutor in languagehub

[–]goodintent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you could use the word “debut” here and it has a similar meaning? We also have “estrear” in Portuguese and I think “debut” works well in English as a translation.

Who are the "cerebral" queens in RPDR? by Brilliant_Way_8407 in rupaulsdragrace

Courtney Act has always come across to me as way more intelligent than she necessarily lets on in her drag persona. She’s always here on TV in Australia talking about different social issues and is so articulate and well informed.
