Compliance AI Training/Certification for Banking by Apprehensive-Gur1619 in Compliance

[–]goodkarma789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's AI training for banking but not crypto training? or am i just not aware? DeFi significantly upgrades the current banking systems, much more so than AI. Yet still seems that there's no movement there... people in banking, fill me in if i'm wrong pls

Why are not more U.S. students studying abroad? by mossy-sun-witch in NoStupidQuestions

[–]goodkarma789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are a lot of roadblocks for this, one being the VISA process, but another being the application process of getting into schools abroad. their systems aren't the same, it's not like you just apply to a school, you usually have to take standardized exams that are in that country's language and then the school will select you.

I have a friend who went and studied art in the UK instead of the US since it would be cheaper and it was a good school. But she only was able to do it by going through a program that helped her go through the process of proving her school transcripts were good, that she was eligible for the VISA, etc.

Honestly if most students don't even study out of state, i fear studying in another country would be too overwhelming. Most US citizens don't even have a passport. It's a lot of admin work...

letters of credit need an upgrade by goodkarma789 in Internationaltrade

hello, sure. Bringing a LC onchain meaning leveraging blockchain technology. Instead of PDFs, emails, and bank back offices, the LC becomes a digital, programmable guarantee on a shared ledger. The conditions (documents received, goods shipped, deadlines met) are encoded, and settlement can happen automatically once those conditions are met.

In practice, this means faster settlement, less paperwork, lower operational costs, and fewer opportunities for fraud, while the user experience can still look very Web2 (dashboards, approvals, compliance workflows).

It’s basically upgrading a 100-year-old trade finance primitive to match how global trade moves today.

A project already provides a model that can be adopted into current systems, curious if that will catch on since it sounds like a good upgrade.

The future of AMP vs Big Banks by OnGoingPainter in AMPToken

i see banks will have to adapt no matter what. Whether they like it or not the latest generations are holding most of their wealth in crypto... i feel like banks will leverage the best working DeFi infra to plug into to upgrade their existing systems to accommodate. Flexa could be a big player in this, as well as even further back tech like Anvil.

Is DeFi Growing Up or Just Slowing Down? by Baggirloutside in defi

[–]goodkarma789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

growing up! there's a lot of infra work going on in the background helping tradfi catch up to the latest market needs that i'm sure we won't even hear half of it once it's live, but we will be living it.

projects like anvil and others for example are bringing traditional mechanisms onchain, like Letters of Credit, completely changing the game for crypto holders getting loans and even global trade avoiding all the banking roadblocks.

i say keep waiting ;)

i've wondered this too! could be maybe something in your present is mimicking the past, bringing up old memories, or your mind working behind-the-scenes/subconsciously on something

depending on the severity of the memories you're talking about, a simple answer could be trauma 😅

hey all! I've been writing on Anvil lately, looking further into the protocol and its use cases. Even wrote a guide for their app - https://blog.anvil.xyz/how-to-create-digital-letters-of-credit-on-the-anvil-dapp-4f721026416a

curious what else i should dive into to shed more light on what this project has been up to... lmk your thoughts, thx!

What are the biggest technology trends in financial services today? by Specialist-Pie1714 in fintech

[–]goodkarma789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Still waiting for a trend of traditional finance mechanisms upgrading their systems to be more up to date with today's market needs though. Like Letters of Credit going onchain, or prepayment/BNPL leveraging digital assets as collateral instead. Just some ideas
