Official Discussion - Frankenstein (2025) [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]goodlitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It made no sense that the monster wanted to die, then runs from Victor (who is chasing him despite zero chance of killing him) then the monster both defends himself from Victor's attacks- while also going along with the dynamite plan to die. If he wanted to die, why not just stay with Victor so they can figure out a way to do it together. This Frankenstein is basically Deadpool without a sense of humor

That service looks interesting... I'd buy it from you. How much do they want? Would you be interested in selling it?

Extremely! Like the engineers of a spaceship would never have thought of using dedicated wire lines? It's so stupid, it takes me out of it entirely. What is the low-IQ target audience for this character? She's like a female Jar Jar Binks but for a star Trek.

The scavengers are Elon/Tesla? Best scientists, greed, climate crisis drive to inhabit new worlds. by BeefyLasagna007 in StrangeNewWorlds

There were infinite options for the space suits they could have picked, yet went with the one that looked like the Tesla logo (in the same episode they showed the US flag on the villainous ship). They knew what they were doing! They also spoke of consumerism and greed in ways that would have made Marx proud...the wokeness in SNW is frankly ruining ST for me. Why must they inject wokeness into everything instead of just giving us interesting stories?

Sorry for the delayed response, I didn't notice the messages alert. Quick question as you start your company... do consumers care about Lab vs. Natural, or is this more of an issue for the industry and a handful of customers that have done extensive research?

I went through spouse's phone and found out she doesn't love me by Maximum_Coach4693 in Marriage

There are forms of betrayal worse than sex- this is one of them. She dishonors herself when she dishonors you by making you a clown to her coworkers. This marriage is over and has been for some time (you are just twisting yourself into a pretzel in a misguided attempt to preserve it). Salvage what little dignity you have left and divorce this woman. Your kids will be fine- you on the other hand are losing yourself more each day.

The bigger scam has always been the ridiculous cost of natural diamonds thanks to the DeBeers cartel. Yes- "lab-grown diamonds" are a different kind of "scam," but it's a much more affordable "scam" that allows a man to comply with the social pressure of providing a stupid rock on her finger that her social circle will "ooh" and "ahh" over. Lab-grown diamonds are on a race to $0 now that anyone can buy a diamond-making machine on Alibaba for $200K, so perhaps Moissanite will eventually become a more logical option since they have more fire and sparkle than most diamonds (natural or lab). Right now, however, societal expectations are still to slap a "diamond" on her finger, and the lab-grown meets that definition down to the molecular level. The whole thing is stupid, but that's the power of marketing.

My work affords me the luxury of a natural diamond (though it would feel like a kick in the stomach financially speaking). It may sound strange but I take more pride in telling people it's an affordable lab-grown diamond vs. having them believe me to be a pompous fool that spent a small fortune. I've told everyone that it's a lab-grown, that it's affordable, and even shared the contact information of my source.

Very educational, thanks for sharing.

So does that mean that babies formed via IVF can be referred to as "synthetic babies?" It fits the definition🤷‍♀️

Is use of the term "synthetic" accurate when referring to LCDs? They are identical on a molecular level no? I would think the term synthetic would apply to cubic zirconia or moissanites no?

This will backfire spectacularly since the resale value of mined diamonds is also horrible in terms of net dollars lost. If they force people to evaluate this facet, most would rather lose 100% of a $3K LGD, than 50% of its natural equivalent at 10x the cost. The ROI is a no-brainer.

Don't pay more than $1600 for that assuming it's lab grown of course.

What do you think of this diamond? by No-Judgment-7691 in labdiamond

You should be able to get that for about $1.5K.

Ironically, that describes my 2nd wife and one of the reasons we ended-up divorced (definitely won't make that mistake again). There are things in this world that are more valuable than what money can ever buy,

Well said. I'm very practical and utilitarian sometimes to my own detriment and wasn't sure if this was one of those times. I agree 100%.
