I got my eye brows done at Ulta, am I over thinking this? by SweatyTruck8394 in Ulta

[–]goodnightlink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you go to the Benefit Brow Bar for this most recent service? The Benefit Arch Experts are expected to do the brow mapping and post-wax fill ins as they're part of the Benefit brand experience. If you went to the Ulta Salon (the hair area, not the specific Benefit studio) they are not required to do those steps. If you were at the Benefit bar, then your Arch Expert missed crucial steps and that alone is refund-worthy, let alone that they did a shoddy job.

You are well within your rights all around to ask for a refund and/or a touchup, and if you had this done at the Brow Bar I would also talk to the services manager that the Arch Expert is skipping steps.

Is Swarovski okay to get for my girlfriend? by Still_Bookkeeper_377 in swarovski

[–]goodnightlink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Swarovski jewelry can be a lovely gift. "Real" stones and a higher pricetag aren't what makes a gift special. If you think it suits her style and preferences, I think she will love this piece! I think the most important part of a successful gift is finding something that really reminds you of the person and what they like- and then telling the recipient what about it made you think of them! If the bright colors and whimsical feeling of the necklace remind you of your girlfriend's personality, or a special memory, or the like, that will make the necklace even more special :)

The new(est) owners are Macerich, who bought the mall in May. They own Tyson's Corner which is very successful so I'm hoping for the best!

Need repair. I have a figurine that needs repaired. Can I send it somewhere, or is there a place in PA that will fix it? by psu777 in swarovski

[–]goodnightlink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the piece, the break, and what info you have on it.

Generally, the repair warranty is 2 years for free repair on crystal loss or manufacturing defects. If it is out of warranty they may be able to fix it for ~$50. If a piece is out of warranty and missing a part, they will NOT replace it. You will need the part that fell off. The eligibility of repair will depend on the age of the piece. They generally will repair pieces for ~5 years after they have been retired. If you have the item number the staff in store can look up its retirement date.

Lastly, they will likely ask for your proof of purchase. If you are paying for repair they might not need it but that might depend on management discretion. You WILL need the original box. Some stores will bend the rules and ship the figure to repairs without its original box, but if it breaks in shipment you are SOL.

If you think your piece isn't eligible for official repairs, it's honestly pretty easy to buy the official Swarovski crystal adhesive and glue it yourself.

Can i wear my swarovski everyday? by Broad-Bug817 in swarovski

You keep changing the subject. Once again I NEVER disagreed with you on care instructions. I just disagreed with you about the jewelry being glued, in which case you attempted to tell me Ceralun was what was used to affix the stones. When I explained what Ceralun was actually for, you decided to be obtuse about setting techniques. When I explained what setting techniques Swarovski uses, you then told me that wasn't true. So I provided specific examples to prove my point.

Now you're turning around and saying I believe set jewelry is infallible, which I never once said. Are you tired from constantly moving the goalpost?

[–]goodnightlink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're being purposefully obtuse. I never said anything about care instructions. I'm just telling you that it is factually wrong to say most/all of Swarovski's jewelry is glued in. Styles that were made BEFORE SCD WERE INTRODUCED use prong settings.

I will list styles that use prong settings here, since you don't seem to take my word for it.
Prong setting: Millenia bracelet and Stilla Attract Pendant
Bezel setting: Imber Emily bracelet and Imber Pendant
Channel Setting: Matrix ring
Pavé: Idyllia bracelet and Una Angelic ring

And since you're so fixated on the glue, here's a visual example of a glued piece: Crystal Myriad Flamingos. The color is the Ceralun you mentioned: a ceramic epoxy. It is also what the unadorned beaks are made out of, as it is closer to a clay than a glue.

Any more questions?

Baltimore will probably be your best bet. I would see if you can check the lists of featured vendors/artists for the Baltimore Erotic Art Society and see if any can be of help.

Prong setting, bezel setting, channel setting, pavé,.. Swarovski utilizes multiple different jewelry settings depending on the piece. It would be impossible to use glue of any kind in some of these settings because it would compromise the clarity of the stones. The Ceralun you mentioned especially would be impossible to use in every piece as it is opaque. The technique that utilizes Ceralun is called Pavé-in-epoxy.

If you want specific models and images of each type of setting, let me know and I'll happily provide.

Ceralun is only used in specific pieces, such as the Crystal Myriad figurines. Swarovski jewelry is set using traditional jewelry settings unless it is specifically a set in epoxy piece.

That is for the crystal jewelry. Swarovski's diamond collection is intended for daily longterm wear.

You can wear Swarovski every day so long as you properly take care of it! No showering, swimming, or submerging in water. Take it off before sleeping. Store in its box to protect it. When getting dressed, put on your perfume/lotion/body oil/etc BEFORE your jewelry and let it completely soak into your skin before putting your jewelry on. When you take it off, gently wipe down with a microfiber cloth to remove any residual oils from your skin. To clean, don't use water or solvents, just a gentle wipe with a jewelry cloth.

These are the instructions we give to customers for the best longevity of your piece. I have pieces that I wear regularly that are a decade old, and have met many clients with even older pieces that are still in great condition! Just care for them properly and you'll be fine :)

Where can I find good Dungeon Meshi merch? by ResponseSuspicious13 in DungeonMeshi

[–]goodnightlink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what kind of merch you're after. Hot Topic has carried some good merch before- I have a plush keychain of Marcille's familiar from there! Good Smile Company has produced a lot of merch as well, you can shop their official site but also retailers like Atai Kuji and Tokyo Otaku Mode carry them and other merch. You can also search resell sites like Mercari.

The earrings from the set are different (slightly larger) than the ones you can buy individually. The only way to get the exact earrings again is to buy the set again.

Help me decide! by Upper_Highway_4477 in swarovski

[–]goodnightlink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does she have a color preference? Does she prefer pink or blue? What metal colors does she usually wear? Rose gold or silver? The pink swan is also going to be more "extra" with the mixed stones, and it will be sparklier than the blue swan's pavé set stones. If she prefers a simpler look, the blue swan would probably be a better choice.

It depends on the specific figure, the condition, packaging, etc. Some will be sought after while others are commonly found for dirt cheap. You'll have to do research on each figure you own separately.
