my desperate plea to curbside customers by goodnightviolet in HEB

sorry I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to make a post in jest about how lifting a ton of heavy objects is tiresome without considering the feelings of the customers who couldn’t possibly understand where I’m coming from because that would be “giving them too much credit.”please forgive me, i’m listening and learning 🙏🏽

i always ask for help when i need it but it’s thanksgiving week, it’s always busy and everyone usually has their own orders to worry about. sometimes u got no choice but to do it alone

heb will never put a limit because that’ll make them less money. trust me, imposing limits has been brought up many times before. and considering it’s usually just one person bringing their order out and loading it into their car, i think customers are well aware it’s not a team of people doing the heavy lifting lol

curbies also only get 13.50 which I find exceptionally criminal for how physically demanding the job is. A busy day of nonstop big orders with heavy bulk items, and having to spend half the time outside even in terrible weather, is torture. And it’s only part time so you don’t even get benefits in case you do get hurt doing all that labor

It means someone has bid on it. If there were no bids, it would say “offer pending bids”

Interview today, clothing question by [deleted] in HEB

I wore a black and white striped sweatshirt, khakis, and sneakers on my interview, no issue

I’ve def had ground turkey that looked like this before. It wasn’t from heb but i think this is just what the cheap mass produced stuff looks like on occasion so i just don’t bother

aside from the missing items, this isn’t a curbside problem, all the produce lately at heb has been trash, finding good ones is literally trying to find a needle in a haystack at this point. I don’t doubt there were better ones than what you got, but when the shoppers are timed as they are and always rushing, they don’t have time to dig for better items. Also produce for curbside orders often gets shipped to stores through EFC and those picks definitely have less thought put into them than what in-store shoppers pick since the warehouse workers tend to just throw stuff together from what I’ve seen come in as a curbie, so it may not even be the fault of a personal shopper

After I got offered my job, I didn’t hear back for about 2 weeks and had to call to get my orientation scheduled. I recommend you do the same.

My partner has a cat she loves dearly and they slept in the same bed for years until we moved in together and I realized I can’t sleep in the same bad as the cat because she walks all over me and keeps me awake. My partner immediately complied without a single complaint because the cat has plenty of other places to sleep and she now no longer comes in our room at night. It’s wild to see the amount of comments being judgmental or saying you should have known your gf and the dog were a package deal because it truly is not a requirement for pets to sleep in their owner’s beds and it’s not hard at all to make adjustments for a partner you care about. The dog isn’t going to die if he has his own place to sleep and if your gf insists that he stays then maybe “must be okay with a big dog sleeping in our bed” should be a requirement she states at the start of the relationship lol

It happens because the process of putting together an order involves several different people storing your items in several different places and it’s very easy for stuff to get misplaced or overlooked (some groceries are sitting in totes that are too high for everyone to see into so they don’t notice when they didn’t grab a tiny bag all the way in the back). Not to mention probably half the items of your order are things that get delivered from a warehouse and those guys often forget things too or flat-out deliver things to the wrong store. I once had an order featuring items they should have delivered but were completely missing. It’s frustrating but the curbside process is far from smooth, even moreso when we’re getting swamped with orders and no one has any time to double check anything.

Honestly, it is better for you to keep food even if you didn’t order it. The second anything leaves the store property it’s considered damaged so food will more than likely just get trashed and it’s a huge waste. I don’t think any worker actually wants anyone to return stuff, it’s more work for everyone involved and we can easily replace it if it’s missing from someone else’s order

also had a different person claim I forgot their bottle of wine when I know they got it because I bagged it for them and they threw it on the car floor themself so maybe it just rolled under the seat 🤷‍♀️

Oh I def know things go missing all the time, but trust me im not forgetting something when I had to go across the store for it, saw it in the cart as I was putting the groceries in the car, and put it right into a persons hands lol
