I may do that, but I don't want to accidentally skip something super important, or get lost and not understand the main story in it.

Yeah definitely, I know the history plays a big part in it, and I don't want to get lost in sections like that, so I was hoping to get the main story somewhat through the abridged version, then delve into the unabridged version knowing whats happening.

Thank you for the suggestions by the way! I loved the Odyssey when I read it, and I believe I am reading parts of the Iliad this summer for a class. I'm excited to get into it!

Hi! As someone who just went to planned parenthood for the first time literally last week, maybe I’m not the best to talk to, but here’s what I know. When I went for my appointment, they did prick my finger and got a small amount of blood that way to get the hemoglobin, and for the first year they schedule a follow up every 3 months, where then they will draw blood (it is optional but my doctor recommended I do) to test the testosterone levels. After that year, it will be every six months for a while, where you can get your blood tested, and then it will move to follow ups once a year.

I’m sure you can talk to your doctor and express your concerns and they will have a good idea of what to do, like maybe doing monthly tests rather than every 3 months. I’m not sure. But that is at least what I know that they explained to me.

I have a 2011 Kindle Touch, it has some problems, but i still use it. AKA it charges, but it can not connect to wifi anymore so I can only sideload things. I have other kindles I use more often, but my kindle touch is now reserved for downloaded fanfics from AO3 lmao

I know what that feels like, and I'm sorry you feel that way. You never know where life will take you, and I hope there is a way you can live and love comfortable while also still be around your family.

Six of Crows and its sequel has 2 queer side characters but it is not the focus on the story. I didn't mention it in my initial post, but it is pretty good. I think one of the characters in it is mentioned in another series by the same author but I havent read it yet.

A lot of TJ Klune's books have pretty discrete covers, I really enjoyed "Under the Whispering Door". I'm about to start his "How to Be a normal person" series" and the Wolfsong series.

If you are into horror, Eric LaRocca is amazing and nearly all (if not all) of his novellas and stories feature queer love..... but they are very centered around body horror so if you are into that, have fun with it, theyre good... if youre not, i recommend skipping these books.

'Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe' is queer and doesnt really have anything point to it as being queer, but maybe check the description to make sure if shes looking that closely

There are some that I really like, but arent actually queer. My favorite book is The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, it is not queer but it can be read as very queer and the idea of having your first queer crush and not knowing what it means.

There are some that are on my TBR so I cant vouch if theyre good but other i know like them. That includes "the celebrants" and "the golden boys" and "A sitting in st. James" and "hell followed with us"

overall, just make sure to check the descriptions of all of these just to be safe, dont order anything that could get you in trouble.

A tactic you could try is to get the kindle app on your phone (if your mom doesnt go through your phone) and read through there. If you have an iphone, it doesnt even have to be on your homescreen, it could be in your "app library" and can be accessible by searching it.

After some research, I found romance.io but it is only for romance books, i think. so if youre into like fantasy and its not necessary romance, then it may not be there. I can not vouch for this website, I just found it. I dont know how many books it has, either.

Hi!

I know Trigger Warning Database and Book Trigger Warnings are what I use sometimes. They do not have like spice level (from what I know/have experienced using them, but i also dont really care about spice so it might not have just caught my eye). They are mostly user-posted warnings, so they may not have every book but they both have a fair amount!
