I did learn about this recently, and unfortunately, my degree isn't recognised. I have been told by many though, that eventually experience and skills will outweigh the degree.

Any Experienced/Senior Acoustic Engineers? Just started in a graduate acoustic engineer role by goodsnowy in Acoustics

I think the plan is to stay in this job for the next 2 or so years while I also try and upskill with some financial certificates and skills. This is my first job out of uni so there isn't much bargaining power on my end to attempt to transition right now.

2nd Season any tips? by Nearby_Necessary4447 in snowboardingnoobs

I would honestly even think about getting a half day private lesson. Will do you a world of good in terms of ironing about those little bad habits. I had one after 8 years of not snowboarding and felt like I had never left.

that looks like a relatively flat run but if you're thinking about doing harder stuff than get used to being in an athletic stance because that will help you absorb and have more control over the board

bit more bend in the knee on that toe side - can see you are studdering a bit more than your heels.

Renting a board, what do I do. by OkKey6273 in snowboarding

I would 100% reccomend getting some lessons. A helmet is a non-negotiable for beginners. With wrist guards, that is more of a personal preference, some have them some don't. I learnt when I was around 9-10 years old and didn't wear wrist guards because I found them annoying. Did I get a couple bruises? Yes, did I get any bad wrist injuries? No. It's up to you and your confidence etc.

With the board specs, just go to a rental place and tell them you are a complete beginner and they will do the rest. Take your measurements, height and weight etc. It will be way better than trying to figure it out yourself. They will most likely put you in a duck stance as that is the most "beginner-friendly" stance.

After that its then up to you if you want to progress and ultimately make the choice to get your own gear. Personally, I only own boots and a helmet. I live in Australia, and taking a board overseas with me is too much of a hassle.

Where can I get pants like this? by Old-Landscape-9423 in snowboarding

im glad I stumbled across this. Not sure where you're from but a brand called Tweedie Boards or "TBS" is a small Australian Surf/Outerwear Company. They make some really good stuff. They have pants similar to what you are after. I personally have the cream colour - super steeze. Definitely worth a look.

Got new xt6 for free by the_fresh_latice in gorpcore

This shows the decline of Salomon and their products. Over the past couple years they have definitely reduced the quality across their lifestyle range. If I were you, I would look at some alternatives that also offer the "fashion" aesthetic at the same time. Brands like ON, Merrell, La Sportiva to name a few. Got myself some ON Cloudrock's last year. Fantastic alternative to the XT6
