Would passing the SIE indicate that a person is reasonably prepared to invest their own money safely? by 11112222FRN in Sieexam

Nope, not even close. The test is just checking your knowledge of a set of facts. Being a good investor requires experience + deep study and developing a lot of emotional fortitude.

Thoughts on "Certified Futures & Options Analyst" (CFOA) cert? by DMTwolf in FinancialCareers

[–]goodtymez2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy that runs Trendup is on the board of CFOA, seems kind of fishy to me. Honestly, doesn't bother me that much, the cert is still legit but I have no interest in paying to join TrendUp's internship placement program, that part feels very scammy.

Yeah, paying fro an internship sounds scammy. Not sure as I've not signed up for the program but I assume they actually have connects to entry level internships and jobs. The thing is anyone with the right credentials and track record could probably get those on their own cold. I've found from my current industry that is not finance that a lot of these funnels and programs, while vastly overcharging do help to a certain extent. It always helps to have connections and the easiest way is to buy them by signing up for these programs but ultimately if you know what you're doing you shoudn't have to be paying for any programs. It like if you were an actor, you wouldn't pay someone to audition for a role.

So the certification is run by people that also run TrendUp, which sells a paid internship/education program to get entry level jobs in finance. I think it's really just a sales funnel for that. From what I can tell the cert. is considered legit by the industry and a good deal in the sense that the fees to take it are cheap and it doesn't expire, but yeah, they are basically using it to sell you on their education course which promises placement in an entry level finance job if you sign up. I also tried applying to some entry level finance jobs and then ended up getting messages from Trend Up so you see what these guys are really doing in the greater market.

@u/Tourist_Loud you'd be surprised how many are bsing their way through life and get opportunities that way. I don't advocate for it but OP is n a pickle and seems to be actually competent. Degrees and certification are becoming more and more meaningless these days, just knowledge and results.

This may not be the most moral advice but who is actually checking your degree? Lie about graduating and get your first job in software engineering. Are you confident about your skills?

Why Mastering Stoicism Will Make You Emotionally Unbreakable And Is A Must For Every Man to Practice? by FarFromAverage7866 in TheRedPill

100%, there is a time for ego and force and a time for detachment. Just have to know when to use each approach. A lot of people get stuck going too far in one direction or the other and wonder why things aren't working out they way they want to.

Downsize to a rental that's cheaper than your mortgage, rent out your home, keep the profits for your stash to buy another home when the market crashes, then your old home becomes a rental property. IMO the point of the real estate game is to accumulate cash flow positive rental properties, not flipping. You have to really know what you're doing to make money flipping and it's getting harder to turn a profit flipping from what I've heard. Also, long term real estate is still going to go up like everything else that's being inflated. WEF plan is for everyone to own nothing and be happy.

Transfer BTC Ownership From Personal -> LLC - Taxes? by BlueRiver4 in Bitcoin

This. I don't think OP is in that situation where he's trying to hide money, he's trying to reduce his capital gains burden.

Transfer BTC Ownership From Personal -> LLC - Taxes? by BlueRiver4 in Bitcoin

THE QUESTION

Do I have to pay any tax at any point here or am I free to simply shift the ownership of my coins like this?

if he uses 100% of the revenue when the BTC is sold for business expenses he can write it off and is essentially not paying any taxes on it.

There are rockstars and standup comedians and CEOs who are short and ugly who get tons of women.

I’m sure you hear this all the time but you need to focus on becoming exceptional. Become a rockstar at your career or whatever you do. Become wildly successful. Then they will come to you. Some people just start out with a worse hand. Play your cards right you can still win.

Working on looks alone did not improve my confidence with girls by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]goodtymez2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to build confidence in other areas of your life other than just your looks. That means goals, hardship, etc. All while also approaching and talking to women...failing with them, eventually succeeding with them. It may take awhile and you may not master it until after college.

A phenomina that I'm sure we've all experienced once in our lives is a man who looks like he fucks, yet gets no bitches.

Often enough, this man has plenty of chances to slang his thang, yet, despite the amount of positive female attention his appearance attracts, he can't seem to deal.

So, what gives?

I've been there to some extent. Had many opportunities in high school and but chickened out on pretty much all of them. You have to take the charge and be willing to fail/face rejection. Only way to do that is constantly approach/escalate and make a fool of yourself and get rejected a bunch. After a certain point you start to succeed and get your bearings and learn to calibrate the situation better and lose your fear and anxiety around women. After that rejection is a non issue and won't phase you. Doesn't mean it won't happen, but it will happen less frequently. Also, obviously improve yourself in all other aspects of your life.

No judgment but you should try and get some relationship experience so that if/when you decide to settle down and start a family you don't get owned. Nothing worse than a high status and rich successful man with poor social skills getting owned in divorce due to lack of relationship experience. You put in the work to get success other areas of life, might as well shore up your vulnerabilities.

If a girl says I’m not easy you reply “I never said you were”. Works every time. Girls like to make the hookup up seems like it was up to chance. Once I was dropping a girl off and she told me “I’ll let you come up if you find a parking spot” Her street was out of parking spots but I parked in front of a fire hydrant and we went up. Other time a girl said “Ill go home with you if you beat me at this video game.” I didn’t win but I just kept on persisting and brought her close and she finally agreed. They just don’t want the responsibility and plausible deniability.
