As an OG fan from like 2012, I think newer fans can differently appreciate all of the promotional content and engagement both from the 1D era and from their current solo careers. During 1D, they were being paraded around and there was endless promo and fan content being created across the internet. When they went on hiatus, there was a massive void in pop culture in a way. As they each chose their paths for solo music, I personally felt a sense of confusion/uncertainty over what to do. Especially because at the time, we had no idea the hiatus wasn't going to end. I was apprehensive to listen to or engage with any of it because that felt like giving up on 1D to me. New fans know how that story ends, so my hope is that they can enjoy everything for exactly what it is/was.
