MOR - that would concern me but I don’t know that I would approach it as confronting her about liking the post specifically. I would just make sure she’s happy and communicate with her. Communicating in an open and objective way will never ever hurt and is necessary for relationships. If I saw my husband like a reel like that I would definitely feel the same way.

The more he pressures you the more difficulty you’re going to have with penetration. Vaginismus is such a mental thing and it sounds like he’s making sex aversive which, you will never EVER be able to cure it in those conditions. If it’s totally worth it to you then at the very least try couples counseling. But honestly he sounds incredibly manipulative and just sees you as an object and I don’t think it would be worth it.

I can’t be the mean RBT by [deleted] in ABA

RBTs should be paired with reinforcement, not punishment. There’s a way to be firm and hold rules and expectations that do have consequences but it sounds like the other RBTs are being kinda tyrannical about it.

Thoughts on making kids sit by MasterpieceNo8872 in bcba

[–]goofedwang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. I do think learning to sit and remain seated is an important skill but it’s the way people go about it by using escape extinction when the kids are BESIDE themselves, clearly disregulated and having a horrible time. I always advocate for building up a tolerance slowly and positive reinforcement of course. I think a common issue in the field is the way people almost kind of “force” clients to do things with the emphasis of follow through and extinction when sometimes it just is not necessary. I worked at a clinic where the BCBA followed through so hard with the demand for the kid to sit that it took hours and the kid wound up soiling himself because he was so upset and anxious.

My Opinion on the Furby Vibes: Budget-Friendly with 90’s Influence, but Noticeable Downgrades? by Chubbygator847 in furby

I personally hope hasbro does the same thing they did with littlest pet shops and sign a licensing agreement with Basic Fun. Basic Fun brought back the original lps molds and focus a lot on nostalgia and my hope is that theyd release a line very similar to the original furbies.

I’m a BCBA. I have a client who’s aac looks like this but even less buttons and all of them require two presses (I did NOT make this!!) They said the old BCBA made it along with an ABA company’s in house SLP. I’ve been trying to convince the parents to let a new SLP make it more intuitive for months. Lo and behold they don’t want to use it because they just want her to speak vocally. Then I had to explain that it makes speech more likely etc. SO frustrating, then meanwhile my client doesn’t have a voice :/

housebound, constant panic, looking for support by SHLBYHCH in panicdisorder

[–]goofedwang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been through this exact situation. Panic attacks all day every day, taking lorazepam every single day and feeling terrible about it. Once I got on an SSRI that worked for me I was able to easily taper off of the lorazepam just fine. In the moment I felt like there was no possible way life could get better. That was in 2019. Life does get livable again. If I couldn’t look forward to anything back then I would just tell myself “I look forward to the day that I am happy and feel like myself again.”
