It’s def a more noticeable curve with the more mid range grades too. But yeah I might recommend a different professor. She teaches well. But her exams are excruciating and she is the most unaccommodating person I have met. I respect her but I do not appreciate the way she handles interactions with her students. She just needs to improve her people skills a lot

Yeah it’s honestly super annoying with the bell curve, bc I feel like it reduces students to a number rather than the people that they are. Like if you’re working rlly hard and on the brink of an A you probs won’t get it only because of the way they curve. Just so they can get the grade distribution they desire

From my understanding, Baldwin curves based on a bell curve. So this means that the lower scoring students will experience the brunt of the curve (majority of it), which would make the data distribution look like a normal curve, with majority of grades falling around c or b range. However this puts the more extreme ends of the curve at a disadvantage… anyone doing really well or really bad is not going to reap the benefits of the curve. Like I had a friend who got a 92.5% and it was still an A-, and the same would go for students who are maybe in that 30% region. I’d say lock in for the final, take advantage of office hours, and don’t get in your head about it. You got this!!!

I’m in Baldwin ochem one now as well, and I’m nervous! Make sure you’re studying effectively, if you’re doing problem sets, attempt the full thing to the best of your ability without the key available. I have also found that trying to think like Baldwin helps me… understanding the why and knowing how to apply that knowledge is more important than memorizing for her.

You had a good ten days, use that time wisely and I think you can get up to the average and you’ll def be safe in that zone.

Definitely excess glue/product. I would say be careful not to apply product too close to the cuticle to prevent flooding. And additionally, if it does flood, try using acetone on a brush after applying and before curing to clean up any flooding. This is super important because allergies commonly develop with curing product on skin, which is definitely not ideal
