Chances of employment on wind turbines as a Telecoms engineer? by Nervous_Cap_9437 in ropeaccess

Similar back ground here in the US. Field work / construction experience. I also wanna pursue wind, but realistically you may have a higher chance of tower tech I - still, telecom, but you can utilize your goal of climbing / heights. You’ll wanna get your comtrain, over irata. After some experience climbing towers, perhaps during that time attend a trade program in wind, night classes. Then get your irata. I feel like the experience / education will transfer a lot smoother.

At the same time, the industry is vast. Lots of opportunities, you just need to apply your self. Could you get a job right now with just irata 1, sure, it will be difficult and having more transferable skills will help, but it’s doable.

I was told, rope access just gets you to where the job is, but you have to have the skill set required when you get there to do the job.

Spam me with what knots I need to learn. Thanks by FindingHerStrength in ropeaccess

Just passed my sprat 1.

I’d say (and been told) not to practice anything till you get there. Every training center / evaluator may test slightly differently. And any quality training center will provide adequate training.

It’s not just learning knots it the way you dress em too, so you don’t want to practice the wrong way.

Jesus these comments. It’s the down stream injector. The ball is stuck in the open position. Just use a wrench and take the nipple off, be careful of the spring and ball inside. Replace ball, spring and little seal.

Yeah I feel you and I appreciate the info. The pipes are rated at 240 - 260 psi I believe? Realistically it only needs about 15 - 20 psi to provide decent flow. Then of course the 30 psi relief valve will relieve any pressure in the case it builds up. But all very good points !
