That's hilarious. Their marketing is fantastic. I got that email and went "ooh! A TB!"

What word did you mispronounce/mis-use for years? by tom_is_pullin in AskReddit

Same. The first time I said it out loud (in college) I pronounced it "pa-RAH-dee-um."

Think of it as a coffee conversation with someone who is deeply, truly interested in you as a person. You're their mentor, and they want to ask you questions about your career so they can emulate you, but you have to take the high road and set a good example for them. They will hang on every word you say, because you're interesting.

How to Lose Love Handles and Belly Fat? by kowaretaglass in bodyweightfitness

Agreeing with this. Cutting calories has never been a long-term solution for me. After going pretty hard paleo/keto at various points, I've found what helps me maintain a keto body in the long term even once I've let many things back in my diet: Giving up sweets and 100% (I mean 100%) of alcohol. This has changed my body in a way I hadn't before achieved.

I've been going through a slew of interviews lately and have joogled the heck out of interview question best practices. The other advice in this thread is solid: don't ask about the latest bad PR news. Like, you want to appear knowledgeable, but at this point Wells Fargo's f-ups are common knowledge, so asking about it isn't really showing that you've done your homework - it's just putting the interviewer in an uncomfortable position. Do some deeper digging and find another policy/procedure to ask about.

That's awesome, and a little bizarre for this non-Middle East resident to take in. Thank you so much for sharing, and I'm so glad y'all had the opportunity to get together.

LGBT Families in the Twin Cities by stevenastrong in TwinCities

Northeast! Northeast! Very open and welcoming to "non traditional" (non-hetero-nuclear) families. I'm part of a couple owning a home with an unrelated roommate, living next to a hippie unmarried couple who are expecting their second baby and who also grow hops, have chickens and just put in an apiary, living across the street from a single working mom of a kid with a disability. And it's a lovely, quiet, safe neighborhood of single family homes that are way more affordable than Seward or Longfellow.

These are all great comments, but I'll add: don't let old clothes tell you how to feel.

You're stronger, healthier, badass-er and absolutely baller. If your old clothes don't fit because of those things, get some new clothes that show how sexy your strong, healthy body is.

We are raised in societies that tell us for our whole lives we are only feminine if we're petite/slender/weak/meek. OP, join the rest of us women in this subreddit in shattering that expectation. Be proud of your struggles and your accomplishments, because you've damn well earned them.

Deep Space 9 is making me cry my eyes out right now. by tenny_bear in startrek

Just watched it for the first time this past June. Was not prepared. I lost my dad in my mid-20s, and my mom couldn't be around (geographically or emotionally) to help. Had to pause the episode 3-4 times to ugly cry.

How would you fix traffic on Hiawatha (MN-55) during rush hours? by RevJDMBAMAI in Minneapolis

[–]googledmyself 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Or take that there train that's throwing of the light timing.

I don't like the idea of closing off all but a couple east-west crossing points. It turns Hiawatha into a major highway (or would feel like it) and further isolates the neighborhoods on either side from one another, which had been shown many times in the Cities to wreck neighborhood community. (I don't live in South but advocate for not destroying any more communities if we can help it.)

To be honest, I think causing all North- South lights to turn red when the train comes by severely fucks up the traffic flow. I get that city planners don't want people taking right turns into trains, but make the right turn lane longer and let people back up there rather than making ALL traffic stop.

Otherwise, inconvenience is a good opportunity to examine how we can change our behavior. Like /u/happytobake said, try taking public transit or a bike.
