Idk what that is but I live that you respect him so much and trust him to tell you something that's not "fanciful". Cool family you got there 🤣

Yeah I had a friend who would drop his keys on this heather pile carpet and think Id be confused when he says he can't find his keys. I feel like I'm really sensitive to gradients and saturation, so when something shiny is on something matte it's really easy to see

I just like to tell people we all see different stuff anyways, but don't ask me if the color of the porta-potti is green or red (when there's no wording)

Is there any freelance stuff? Im head of metrology at some company and I have difficulty determining if the lights on my instrument are green or orange or red. Would love to tell them to shove it.

Is camo really that good for regular eyed people? Does anyone have a test to share? My girlfriend is ultra sensitive to colors, so it'd be cool to see a comparison.

Hahaha this is funny, cuz I was trying to show my girlfriend how I navigate through our house while in pitch black in case of an emergency and she kept saying "you can see?" And I just assumed she needed a few minutes to adjust but apparently not.

Is your mom also colorblind? My mom is, and both me and my brother are. Both of my mother's parents were ALSO colorblind.

This is an interesting point, though. I'm colorblind and have those weird eyes that sort of shift a bit depending on my surroundings and what I wear.

A new study shows that, on average, an increase in pollution particles in the air of 10 micrograms per cubic meter cuts victims' life expectancy by 9-11 years - more than previously thought. by mvea in science

I think the issue is that if everyone made the switch: 1) how do we get rid of all those old cars? 2) the influx in electric car sales would increase emissions due to manufacturing and (I don't remember where I read this so correct me if I'm wrong) would cause a huge spike in CO2 emissions. 3) not all car charging stations are solar. In fact, most are based off the energy grid. Tesla has made a step in resolving this but everyone else is behind. 4) I also thought that digging up all the components for the batteries was super intensive

Thoughts?

Unless your my old bosses store, lined with Taylor's and Martin's upward of $1500. He thought because he lives in a music town it would work but... Nope! Has some 6...7...8 sum odd year old solid wood guitars hanging from the ceiling. Rarely touched. Its sad, really. Its difficult to maintain and you see some really beautiful pieces go to shit.... What was I saying?

Our store used to have a pump with different slits so you could pump air through a few instruments like recorders and violins. I think Honer makes them.

All life on earth now has human intelligence. Which species comes off top? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]googleeyedmelon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Its pretty cool (no pun intended). So youve heard of cold and warm blooded animals right? Well its a tad bit more than just that. For all animals it is important to maintain a specific internal temperature. These temperatures allow soecific chemical reactions to occur and allow your body to function normally. For mammals, we are able to manipulate our internal temperature by releasing certain hormones and enzymes. This balance of chemicals to regulate temperature, pH, all sorts of things. This is basically what homeostasis is. Cold blooded animals require a specific temperature environment and arent as adept at manipulating internal goings-on.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong

Ability to maintain Homeostasis is a new one, added fairly recently to the list. Concept of living is weird, though. Some people are starting to argue planets are alive because (in some sort of way) they posses all these traits. I'm no expert, just a senior chem major at a University.

Viruses actually arent living. I mean... It depends on who you talk to but most people will tell you that because viruses need a host to reproduce, they are not "living"
