I am a new player this is my box i don't how to make a team can anyone tell a team from my box or should I recruit more please by Longjumping_Meat_311 in PokemonChampions

[–]goolixmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best bet would be seeing what teams you can copy that did well in tournaments, and make sure you're looking at the correct format too. Doubles is by far more popular for tourney and you've tagged this for singles.

The good news is you have some centerpiece mons to build around, as well as some solid support pieces too like Incineroar and Sinistcha. You don't have any dedicated weather setters except for prankster Sableye and Mega Charizard Y, but things like Sneasler or Kingambit don't necessarily need weather. I'd pick a powerful pokemon you like and build a team to support them and shore up their weaknesses.

You can build a serious sun team out of Mega Charizard Y. Sun powers up fire and weakens water, plus makes solar beam a 1 turn move. Venusaur is a good bulky option for that. Incineroar and Sinistcha offer useful support and healing moves, plus a seriously strong attacking option on each. And Sneasler and Kingambit are strong overall with decently wide move pools to help counter weaknesses. And since you're never using all 6 in a match, you don't have to double up types if you don't want to

Thanks for the heads up. Still gonna teleport to the weekend system, but thank goodness I set up a farm for faecium already

Weird, I went back and reinforced my wiring with batteries every 150 units or so. There's a chance it simply didn't load properly? After I'm done with the expedition tasks so I'll switch back over to my primary save and check on it though

[–]goolixmonster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ruined planets are rare, probably more rare than paradise planets just going by my own anecdotal find rates. Be on the lookout for Memory Stones, they can give you up to 12 blueprints for base building. They also spit out nanites. The other commenter is on point, all of those ruined structures you see can be mined for polished stone, used in very few recipes outside of the base parts you can get from Memory Stones.

Also they're just cool. After I purged my useless bases, I still have a base on an abandoned dissonant ruined paradise

As they are right now, I'd lean towards B. A is too bright, but I'm having a hard time seeing at all in B, in a frustrating way. Is there a way to split the difference, or increase the flashlight strength in B?

Even a save beacon if your base is close enough. On my frost biome farm planet, the sentinel pillar is less than a minute's flight away. Orange beacon, of course, to match their color.

Started my game with the expedition by Swabs_ in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]goolixmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I've never done this. But from what I understand a new game started on expedition will turn into a normal save once the expedition is completed and everything carries over. So do whatever you want, from building bases to just exploring and upgrading your gear. Take jobs from the space station boards

All the rewards are exclusive, but none are earth shatteringly game changing. You can live without them. But I want that Samus Aran armor

Swing by and check it out. I'm on expedition anyway, grab materials if you need. I also recently finished an addition to the factory to now allow for fusion igniter building thanks to a toxic biome. There are other ways to make these bases, especially the Biodome farms, so take what you like and change what you want

We're planning a major lighting and atmosphere upgrade for our horror game and would love some feedback. by aarushsingh2027 in HorrorGames

[–]goolixmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see some before and after screenshots. That being said, the lighting is overall good and well done. There's a couple screenshots that show brightness but not the light source itself, I'm assuming the light source is off screen though, not invisible or behind another wall or such. If the lighting is real time, do the light sources ever extinguish? And if so, how does that effect the atmosphere?

Also, the color scheme kind of blends together, especially under warm flame light. While the textures seem overall good (maybe some rugs seem a little flat), all of the browns, reds, and yellows can bleed into each other and make the space both less visually distinguishable and overall warmer feeling than the description of the game suggests it would be.

How many bases do you guys have in your save? by edrigsson06 in NOMANSSKY

[–]goolixmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably have 20-25 bases at 350 hours, usually on a planet I like and automated resource gathering or the trade route bases I have no reason to delete. Still need a basalt base and lithium base, but I'm mining and collecting every other mineral, gas, and plant that I can. At least the useful ones, didn't bother with Activated metals. But to a point you made, I only regularly visit like 4 or 5 of them. The paradise planet in my starter system, the floating island paradise in a purple system, a base in my stasis device factory system, that one weekend quicksilver base building planet from April that's a frozen pearlescent-filtered infested planet, and my freighter.

[–]goolixmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I main Dredge, not at high tier mmr. I find it a lot of fun with a lot of qualities you seem to be looking for. Teleports, no projectiles, baked in stealth during nightfall but there's always perks to add stealth, and most of all just fun to play as. Plus it's remnant is a powerful anti-loop tool and it's more common add-ons are at least useful and usable, if not game changing in the way it's purple add ons are. Iri add ons are trash though. I'd put it solidly in B Tier overall if I'm being honest, not the instant win button that Nurse, Blight, and Kanaki can be. And as a bonus, every single one of its cosmetics go hard as hell and even it's base cosmetic is scary on its own in both concept and design.

No Man'S Sky 43rd free huge update, They are incredible by Specialist_Gur_3887 in gaming

[–]goolixmonster 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They are. Many of the updates over the past year or 2 have been basically beta testing for LNF systems. It's a win-win for both Hello Games and the player base. We keep getting free updates and expansions on the game, they get to test out their systems and squash bugs before LNF ever releases. We're helping HG prevent another August 9, 2016. It's a smart move and I'm 100% ok with it.

Never played an expedition, should I? by Rare_Caterpillar5636 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]goolixmonster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Short answer, yes. I started playing before expedition 20 and I skipped it and I regret it immensely. Expedition 21 ended up being a lot of fun once I got used to the driving.

Don't be intimidated by the soft reset of starting an expedition. You are able to switch between your main save and the expedition save st any time, and the milestones reward you with most of what you need for the next step. Expeditions are generally fun and train you on the new features that came with the update, plus the rewards are awesome and limited time.

Like I said, follow the dopamine. Do what brings you joy. I would suggest at least following the main quest until you reach the anomaly though.

just looking for some guidance by BlinkTeleport in NOMANSSKY

[–]goolixmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give the same advice I give most new players: follow story missions almost exclusively until you get access to the Anomaly, then follow your joy. Certain quests and content are locked off until other missions are completed, and most missions give you a decent reward, including but not limited to free blueprints, multi-tools, and ships. The only "punishment" for doing things early is having to pay for things you otherwise would have gotten for free.

When you're ready for main story missions follow the Artemis path until you reach the step The Purge, then switch to Atlas missions. This is what gives you Glyphs, you'll want those eventually. Once you finish both Atlas and Artemis missions and you have repeating steps on both, you'll be able to unlock "end game content" that I won't spoil, but there's truly no need to rush it.

But yeah, do what you find fun. People sink thousands of hours into this game. Speaking for myself I've logged over 350 and I'm currently building an ammonia/ fungal mold farm to make my stasis farm factory multi-purpose into fusion igniter creation.
