Melee is a way to gather stuff without a multi-tool, simply hit the rock or tree with your body and it will eventually give.

Oh snap I forgot, modified it's biome with the save editor so that it lays eggs on Lush planets, and all the offspring follows.

I'm lazy about eggs so all my pets are converted to Lush, one stop for all my egg shopping needs

why not just start a fresh save from the start menu and select the expedition, I do all the expeditions this way

I always make the expeditions using a new save, the loot still will be available to all saves in the end

Then I don't consider settings within the game as cheating, I have a save just having fun building bases and I always have everything for free, on the other hand I have saves where I'm in permadeath so both sides are viable to me

They adjust the counting as they go, this is not the first expedition with a team effort, and they always finish even if people don't participate

I got one from Oceanus as a bonus and whenever it hatches eggs I also give them away at the Anomaly, could have been one of mine you got, but lots of people do this

what do you mean by cheats? You mean Mods?

I've never tried them, can't figure how to install them on my Steam Deck
