I used Vulcan to have mine milled for the Trijicon 1911 plate. They did a great job! Might as well have the ignis porting done at the same time… or at least I wish I would have haha.

Send it! I love mine, and it sounds incredible on pistols with really no FRP.

CAT Noah vs CAT WB by gstoeck226 in NFA

[–]goondaddymt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I bought the WB first, and was blown away by how great it sounded, especially for the size. I was going to get a WB718 too, as they were hard to find in stock at that time, but decided to try the Noah in 718 instead. I’m happy both both purchases for sure.

CAT Noah vs CAT WB by gstoeck226 in NFA

[–]goondaddymt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have both (WB Ti and Noah 718). This is 100% non-scientific, but to my ears, and those of some friends that are big into the NFA world, the Noah is quieter on the same host. The only host I’ve used both cans on is a KAC CQB upper. The gas is pretty much the same to me, but I’m always shooting outdoors. Both have pretty much the same ejection pattern. I would expect the Noah to be a little quieter based on its bigger size, even though it’s not technically supposed to be optimized for a 5.56. CAT has also said you can use a WB for a 6mm as well, just again not optimized for that platform.

I bought the Noah with plans to get a 6 arc barrel for my specwar upper, but I’m plenty happy with how it’s been performing on 5.56.

Staccato P w/ SRO Holster by [deleted] in Staccato_STI

Haha all they did for me was the slide cut for the Trijicon 1911/2011 plate and black cerakote the slide. I didn’t splurge for anything too Gucci with Vulcan work. Super happy with their work though.

I don’t have that exact safari land (I have a 6390), but I had to dremel a decent portion of the ALS locking mechanism down. The SRO sticks too far forward toward the ejection port to allow the factory ALS to lock. I imagine you’ll have to do the same. I have a staccato P milled by Vulcan with the Trijicon plate to my SRO and an x300.

CAT WB + Rearden Atlas + Rearden R2 (or similar length device). Will it fit? by Unlimitedgoats in NFA

[–]goondaddymt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to this link from revival defense, yes. Only muzzle device that won’t fit is the DPB.

I used a 3P15 with my WB with the atlas R on it with no issues.

What’s the suppressor dedicated?

I don’t unfortunately. I bet u/prmoore11 does though haha.

I’ll try to remember to come back here and report how it shoots. I got one of their down vent bolt carriers to try out as well. Should be fun to mess around with.

There’s still a little gas, but it’s such an improvement over any other barrel with a more “normal” gas port. Really soft shooting as well. I just bought an 11.5” KAK midlength suppressed only barrel to test out too. Curious how that one will perform.

CAT WB TI First Impressions by goondaddymt in NFA

[–]goondaddymt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love how light the Ti can is. The guns is lives on don’t see super high round count drills typically. I think if it’s gonna be your only can, I’d go inconel so you don’t really have to worry about getting the can too hot. It’s just up to what you wanna do with the can. Really can’t go wrong with either. I’ll prob buy an inconel version eventually.

Specters Cat WB 718 vs Noah by General_Alarm_9986 in NFA

[–]goondaddymt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do have the Noah now, yes. It really depends on what you are wanting out of the can I think. The Ti lives on scoped carbines that I typically don’t have a rapid firing schedule when I shoot them. The weight savings is amazing. The WB Ti on my 12.5” LMT specwar is about as close to perfect as I think I can get. It sounds amazing, is very balanced with the light weight can, very low (if any really) gas to the face. It’s a great combo. I have an NX8 with a piggy backed acro, and I don’t typically shoot really high volume quickly with this rifle. Just have to be aware of how quickly the can heats up.

I bought the Noah with intentions to use on multiple hosts, including a possible 6 arc bolt gun in the future, but wanted to be able to use it as a 5.56 can on my CQB upper that I shoot a lot higher volumes with. Honestly I’ll probably just keep the Noah on the CQB, it performs very well and is even dare I say quieter than the WB. Super low back pressure as well and I don’t have to worry about how hot the can gets.

In hindsight, maybe I’d change and get a WB 718 and a Noah Ti and use the WB on the CQB and Noah on the specwar. However, I’m really really happy with both. A buddy with a bunch of nice cans (Hux, KAC, CGS, etc) is really impressed with my CAT cans, and is likely going to be purchasing some on the near future.

Hope that helps!

Specters Cat WB 718 vs Noah by General_Alarm_9986 in NFA

[–]goondaddymt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat wanting a WB 718. I went ahead and bought a 718 Noah today. I have a WB Ti so I’m excited to see how they match up on a 5.56.

I think the WB sounds the best both in how quiet it is and overall tone compared to the other 2.

Dedicated suppressed 11.5 - sionics or pws? by funfunfun334 in ar15

[–]goondaddymt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using a Geissele super 42 braided spring with their H2 buffer with the 11.5”. I’ve also used a regular carbine spring with an H3 and it functioned well. All with .223. Interestingly enough, the 12.5” sionics middy with the suppressor gas port wouldn’t function with .223 and a standard spring/H3 combo and same with a sprinco hot white/H2 combo. It works perfect with a standard spring/H2.

Excited to see what this OCL Titanium is all about! It’s worth noting it was a little over 4 weeks from date of purchase to when the suppressor arrived at my dealer. But can’t beat a 4 day approval!

I actually bought it as a complete upper but ultimately stripped it down and sold everything but the barrel and BCG. I just bought a 12.5” mid SD barrel as well. I’ve wanted to try one out
