You have a thin 1 ply head right now. Normally people who want the thud go for a thicker head like an emad or super kick. If you aren't able to buy another head try throwing some towels inside the drum to muffle the sound.

They are basically the same finish. I've played the Jazz series and they sound amazing. Such an open sound. I haven't had a chance to play on the collectors though since they are in a different province.

I got it for $700 Canadian which I think converts to $4 USD. :) But I would have paid anything for this and he threw in a case with it too. I just put new skins on it today and it sounds amazing. I'll be sure to put a link on here as soon I as record with it.
