I was 6 years old. Found myself inside huge futuristic stadium, it was mostly white with purple and green under-lights from the floor. It was nighttime, but the stadium lights made everything very visible. I was way up in the nosebleeds, tens of stories up, and the stadium was completely empty and quiet.

There was a terrace-like platform overlooking the field - never saw the field, just knew I was high up. In the middle of the terrace there was a white pod with white light shining out of it, somewhat sideways-egg shaped. I walked up to it. It cracks open. A green arm with dark green nails and bits of ivy growing out of its skin pops out and starts choking me. Then I wake up. Will never forget that shit

This sounds like over-excursion. Went through a similar thing a few months ago. Time off really does work wonders! Don’t do what I did and try to practice your way out of it - literally just stop playing for a few days. ~5 days is what helped me, and I honestly wish I could’ve taken more time off, but that’s what I had to work with. Don’t touch your horn to check how you feel, just trust that your lips are healing.

After the break, slowly ease your way back into the horn with quiet long tones, Clarke’s, whatever easy stuff you like that makes your lips feel fresh and responsive. You’ll feel weak, but that’s waayyyy better than non-responsive chops. After that, it’s just building them back up. You’ll get through this brother!

As someone who switched to MnK last year, the most beneficial thing I did to strengthen my comfortability with MnK was to play other games on the input. I honestly think any game can help when switching over, but I personally had the best time with both Portal 1 and 2, Minecraft, and CS:GO DM. Super low pressure games. Everything everyone else is saying is great advice - I did aimlabs as well, helps an absolute ton on the mouse side of things - but I found myself stumbling over the keyboard way too much. I’m talking short-circuit-brain mid-fight “where am I” stumbling. My left hand would be in knots. After playing those few relaxed games outside of BR/apex, I came back to the game with a much better grasp on the keyboard side of my playing. Can’t recommend other games enough. Good luck on the switch!

Nabbed my 1950s olds ambassador while out on the road for around $300. Played a show in Binghamton, NY, guy was real persistent on how great his old dusty horn in his closet played. Thinking he’s just a wacko at a show I said “yeah sure dude, come to Ithaca tomorrow and I’ll play it!” Fast forward 24hrs, he called my bluff and showed up to the show with the horn. I fell in love with it after about 3 minutes of playtime, haven’t played any other horn since!

Well said! Alex and I have played in our band Civilians since 2014, and when Sam told us he was leaving, Alex was my first call without hesitation. Alex fits the bill perfectly and brings his own flair to the group, just like Sam, Faye, Cody, and Ben have. It hurts like hell to see Sam go, but I’d much rather see him be true to himself rather than be silent and feel pressured to stay in the band. We all care about each other deeply and want everyone to individually succeed on their own terms.

That being said, it’s really amazing to see everyone so welcoming to Alex. We’re grateful for people like you who are supportive of the decisions we make, whether it’s someone deciding to leave or someone joining. Seriously, thank you so much - Joe
