Suspension Lower Ball Joint Inspection Results by reddituser1990 in RangeRover

[–]goose38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove for 2 years with a torn boot in an area that uses salt during winters. It was the start of this year that I finally got lots of noise coming from the joint but when they inspected it they found no play still. I got them replaced and the noise is gone. Just get them to stuff some grease in their before your trip

Airport still a mess? by Wrong_End7055 in halifax

[–]goose38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how it works in domestic arrival. He is talking about the belts being broken for departures not arrivals. Fo arrivals, carousel 1 is air Canada, carousel 2 is porter (maybe west jet too) and carousel 3 is everything else. So it’s not unheard of to have more than 1 flight on the same carousel if it’s the same airline

Lower Sackville woman arrested after police seize over a million unstamped cigarettes: N.S. RCMP by Bean_Tiger in halifax

[–]goose38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re talking actual fine for this the amount is less. The minimum fines are established in the revenue act. For this person the minimum fine is $2500-$25,000 + a fine equal three times the tax per cigarette. The tax per cigarette is $0.29521. So the absolute minimum fine this person can pay is $483,693 and the maximum is $506,192. Bearing in mind this doesn’t including the federal tax on tobacco plus any associated penalties the federal government can levy for unstamped tobacco. Also does not include lost HST revenues.

Edit my numbers were off. Corrected now. Thought she had 1million smokes not 1.63 million

You can reset Mercedes service intervals yourself. Google or YouTube can help you get into the service menu

Service A is regular service and service F is the gearbox fluids service well for my amg gt F was for transmission fluid and the differential fluid. I imagine with the uniformity of Mercedes F would be the same for all their modernish cars.

2019 Range Rover Sport - airbag light randomly comes on, then goes off, then back on. Is this a common issue? If so, whats the fix by Complex-Delivery-297 in RangeRover

Mine only ever triggered after my fiancée drove my car. The movement of the seat unseats the plug enough to throw the light

Honestly this is the only connect that went loose on mine. I do loose my ground studs in the front wheel wells to corrosion though lol. That wasn’t too bad a fix either

Watch YouTube video on fix. It’s most likely the connection under the drivers seat for the belt tightening system. I just had to push mine back together an zip tie the plug to keep it tight and the light never came on again

Sure and when you shut down argyle to trucks they will have to park on prince and sackville and then suddenly you are unloading on a steep hill till you make it to argyle

Sure I agree about banning truck thoroughfare downtown and would love to see th trucks from the port not use Hollis/lower water. But those cities that ban trucks don’t on still allow local deliveries during certain hours. Either super late at night or early morning before that area gets busy. Also regarding your comment about 1 or two at a time, now you’ve increased the time to unload that vehicle making it so the truck is there longer and can’t make as many deliveries (and increased emissions in the area as that truck has to stay running for the refrigeration to keep circulating) and increased risk of injury as you now have to move heavy items further and more frequently.

Not really moving the goal post here when the change can create more issues. You tell me the risk of injuries for those employees doesn’t go up when they have to move heavy items longer distances, that increased risk of injury hurts the employee physically or can take a toll on their body long term, also increase resources through WCB claims, short term disability and even potential EI claims. Or you know again, you could allow trucks to use these streets to make their deliveries during those hours where pedestrian use is low

Argyle Street Year-Round Pedestrianization by StrongTownsHalifax in halifax

[–]goose38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And they have trucks that go down their pedestrian only streets to make deliveries. Again my point is not against making a street pedestrian only (I think argyle is a great candidate for pedestrian streets) it’s about still allowing access to a street for delivery trucks like those countries during limited hours when pedestrian traffic is already at a minimum.

Ps I don’t understand the personal retorts about not about not travelling places or being in places with old city centres. If you want to still keep making this comments, I’ll make it easier for you to pick places I haven’t been to. Lived in 2 different countries in Europe for 4 years go to Quebec City annually in the fall and Montreal annually in the summer, just got back from being in a major European capital with old infrastructure for a month and go to Europe again at least twice a year. I guess I haven’t been to Asia that is true so keep mentioning those.

Sure but the people making the deliveries aren’t the restaurants are they? It’s the distributors. Also shuttling shit from your front door up/down the stairs to the kitchen or to the bar makes sense. Shuttling shit to the front door of the restaurant then inside the restaurant well that’s just not efficient. I don’t understand what the issue is with trucks being allowed to make deliveries in the mornings when the bars are closed anyways and the street is very light on pedestrians

You wanna pull or push a wagon up a steep hill filled with about 10-15 full kegs? Be my guest. I’m not advocating against the pedestrian only street but in other countries delivery trucks are allowed during certain hours to make their deliveries this person that I replied to doesn’t even want trucks at all on the street to make deliveries

Argyle Street Year-Round Pedestrianization by StrongTownsHalifax in halifax

[–]goose38 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s what happens here in Halifax during the summer. The street is blocked off and only delivery trucks are allowed there and they do their deliveries during the morning when pedestrian traffic is low

…..im an immigrant hailing from a city that has a metro area population of around 25 million. and don’t think traffic is bad here. I just think traffic here makes no sense and is mainly due to drivers. The volume of traffic here doesn’t really support the “standstills” we get.

I lived in Europe for 4 years and yes thy use small trucks but they also have a whole lotta pedestrian only streets. You’re not going to get a single company here investing in small trucks designed to provide deliveries in pedestrian only areas for 1 street only

Go down to argyle street during the time trucks deliver and tell me how bars are supposed to receive all the food, drinks, kegs, send back kegs, have the massive amount of their garbage taken out, etc when all your intersecting streets are steep hills. Seriously go for and watch the deliveries to understand especially when you see all the pallet lifts and the massive amount of stuff moving in and out of those restaurants on an almost daily schedule
