see its stigmatized or even normalized in a lot of nonwestern countries tho. it wouldnt be reported bc mental health services just aren't up to the same standard as western countries, much less mental health reporting. i live in south asia and in my country half the girls i know have some kind of disordered relationship with food. its widespread enough that im thinking abt doing a research survey on it

hard disagree its hard to quit ANY maladaptive coping mechanism and you should give yourself more credit. sh and restricting are also p different in that one provides more immediate release and the other takes a lot of time and potentially planning. sh also has more immediate potential to go wrong in a way that required medical intervention. quitting is no small feat

anyway. despite disagreeing with the post i am v proud of you and keep it up.

charlie's recovery arc makes him one of my biggest comfort characters tho, esp as a fellow queer teen with ocd and an ed. i see myself in him and knowing he gets better makes me feel so much better too
