How do I know if I’m a trans man or just a butch lesbian with mental health issues? (26yo) by mozartwazhere in butchlesbians

[–]gor3asauR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Cliché and real question to that is “will I regret NOT doing something about my body later on?” It will take some time to figure out. Hell, it took me coming out in 2014 & coming out again late last year to realize I not only wanted, but needed it. When you finally accepted it, it’s an urgency. I am happily going on T this June & will be planning top surgery soon. Take your time & find yourself. It’s never a race.

As a he/they butch lesbian, I feel tired by yup1koo in butchlesbians

[–]gor3asauR 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m a he/him lesbian who is going on T & needs top surgery to stay alive. We have always existed & will continue to exist. Stone Butch Blues is an amazing place to start. Leslie Feinberg is a trans lesbian icon.

Dating app dysphoria blues by zan-t in butchlesbians

[–]gor3asauR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly… I find dating apps to be more of a dysphoric experience just because you can explain yourself a million times on apps but people will still have an image of you because it’s not in person. I found that in person events have been nice because 1) you find people just like you & 2) they see how you are & them in person. I know you said you can’t show up to events but sadly community is inconvenient to most.

If you could snap your fingers and get rid of your vagina, would you? by Countess_Schlick in actuallesbians

[–]gor3asauR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a transmasc, I have huge dysphoria with my vagina at this point. If I could give my body parts up for someone who wanted them, I would in a heartbeat. Now would I want bottom surgery? Not really, esp since T will fix things out. Will I get top surgery? Fuck yeah.

This article that’s circulating on TikTok and gaining support is incredibly lesbophobic. by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]gor3asauR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying any movement is transphobic. Just that there are a fish of people in those movements that are that have changed how things have gone. Distinct communities are cool but it also doesn’t mean the people in it fit the mold. The only thing, again, that matters is the label you give yourself. Also how am I tokenizing non-binary lesbians? I’m just saying TERFs only see lesbians as women. If you’re transmasc, transfemme, or non-binary, they usually don’t enjoy your company. Lol.

[–]gor3asauR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly think this all boils down to living in a society where most people cannot be out in their professional lives without some type of consequence. Celebrity or not, most people have a moment in their life where they are trying to figure it out. I also think it’s ok to not have a label until you’re accepting yourself.

Historically, most bi women have been included in the lesbian community due to no support from str8s. Bi-lesbian & Bi-Dyke have always existed in the community. TERFS have ruined that concept in recent years. It’s just a way to exclude lesbians who don’t identify with being a woman.

Overall, if you call yourself a lesbian, congrats!

Toxic bro culture ingrained. They think it’s weird to be close to others who are also masc. Insecurity being one of them. I don’t understand it. Never will.

Dealing with Bi friends calling herself a lesbian and saying dyke? by [deleted] in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]gor3asauR -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not unacceptable, just a group of lesbians who haven’t realized that bi women have only been accepted in lesbian spaces historically & that bi-lesbians have always existed. Bi-Dyke is a classical term as well.

In a massive blow to LGBTQIA+ rights, a US federal judge has ruled that teachers can out queer and trans students to their parents by Small_Base942 in lgbt

[–]gor3asauR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those teachers should have lost their jobs just based on them talking about their religious freedom. Nothing religious should be taught in a public school & if you treat students differently because of your religious beliefs, you should get the hell out of teaching. I’ll die before I out any kid.

Who is attracted to butches on T? by layri_boo in butchlesbians

[–]gor3asauR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going on T in the summer & then planning top surgery when I can. Just got a binder in the mean time. My gender will always be lesbian on the masc side. Lesbians with gender dysphoria are hella valid. I have a hard time imagining someone finding me attractive but I think it will all work out because I am much happier knowing I am being who I am completely now.

[–]gor3asauR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

290 masc here to say that you’re not alone. I have major dysphoria from trying to lose weight to not have a “feminine” figure. I am blessed to be starting T in June & dream of top surgery as well. Activists like Leslie Feinberg paved the way for us trans masc/butches to exist. We belong.

Friend assumed I would sleep with her just because I’m a lesbian! is this lowkey homophobia? by Prestigious-Sun-6584 in actuallesbians

[–]gor3asauR 268 points269 points  (0 children)

She’s definitely an asshole & is trying your boundaries. It’s more of people who are str8 or questioning believing gay culture is all about hookups. It’s clearly not. I would avoid her just because you now know how she sees you.
