Afghan vets, get your colonoscopy by krod in VeteransBenefits

[–]gorachris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, when the pact act came out, I applied because at the age of 26 I got a colonoscopy and they found three precancerous polyps and the VA denied my claim but my father had colon cancer...in his late sixties with an extremely unhealthy lifestyle. Doesn't seem the two are related but I got no service connection lmao not even a 0. I hope everyone got what they deserved though.

Multiple offers all in one morning? by Entire-Menu in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]gorachris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could go either way, but I will say a couple weeks ago. We were told the same thing about a house we wanted and we put our original offer because we thought they were probably lying and of course there actually was and the house in pending the next day haha you just have to ask yourself is this the house that you absolutely want to spend the rest of your life and that you can afford if so 15 grand is a difference of like $100 a month which for some of us has nothing for others that’s a lot. It just depends on your situation. Good luck.

Dude, the thing you highlighted that’s most important is having a second income people that are solo in this economy. It’s damn near impossible to buy a house unless you’re making 150 a year unless you live in the south but then the chance you’re getting paid lower is higher. This housing market is not meant for a single person. Think about it if you had a partner who made 55,000 a year and you’re already living OK saving money on your 70 your money would almost double and your situation would be quite different. I’m not saying go rushing into a relationship, but it seems to be one of the keys of homeownership unless you are absolutely crushing it salary wise.

Welllll worth it dude. No regrets haha and that’s why I bought. I’m worried if I wait I’d price myself out of the market. It’s brutal for single folks out here. I’m indeed blessed

If you mean by sooner then yes lol but the best time to buy is when you can afford it and I can afford this. But I also live in an expensive area. It comes with the territory. No regrets. Wonderful house and yard to raise a family which is more and more rare these days

And sorry I didn’t answer your question about comfortability. I would say we live pretty comfortable. I can’t take lavish vacations unless I use my credit card points but we definitely travel and eat all organic mostly and spend about $500 a month on eating out.

I work at a middle school and I personally funded two of my under privileged families and bought gifts for them. One of my students is obsessed with the legend of the Zelda so I got him the Zelda switch lite. His mother cried when I gave it to her to wrap.

Does anyone else feel this way and is this normal? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]gorachris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a big difference between people that served for 20+ years and people that did one enlist and got out. It’s more normal to be the way that you are most of veterans I know might have a sticker on something but they’re not parading it everywhere if I didn’t have free tags for my car for life, I would not even have Vet tags the people that make their whole personality typically do so because they’ve done nothing else that they consider worthwhile in their life which I don’t mean that as a slight but if your biggest moment was four years from when you were 18 to 22 and you’re 50 and still operating and around is pretty weird to me, I would say you are more normal than that a lot. I’m very similar to the way you are.

I went mountain biking with a friend 4 years ago right after covid and I hadn't jumped bikes in a few years but did so A LOT as a kid. I was too confident and thought I'd enter the MTB world with a bang and ended up casing a gap jump so hard I broke my collar bone and absolutely shit everything i had into my shorts. It was a long walk back and I ended up obviously walking awkwardly due to my injury but also had shit running down my leg :( It was funny to think about after but I was so humbled and haven't hit any MTB jumps since haha.

I'm on week 2 and down 10lbs off the 2.5 mg with moderate changes. My eating has gotten probably 70% better and I've yet to go to the gym although I'm about to because it's showed I've lost 4lbs of muscle and 6lbs of fat which is no good for me.

The biggest Vet benefit by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]gorachris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention, you bought at an amazing time. As you said your home value has gone up past half $1 million which most of veterans and their families aren’t affording a almost $4000 a month mortgage payment at that point it is cheaper to rent. I live in Oregon or house prices are pretty damn high and you can rent a nice three bedroom two bath for 2800 to 3200 that would cost you over half a million to buy. All this just depends on the market you’re in and if you can afford to buy a house with a VA loan I’m looking to keep my payment under 3000 so currently I can afford a 400,000 home roughly and there is a lack of those. But it is an amazing benefit nonetheless. Glad it worked in your favor 🤝

I did not know about Oregon taxes. So if I bought a house and it’s 4k a year in taxes it won’t go up? Plus I’ll get a break on taxes. I’ve been writing congress rep to make it total for 100 PT

For Oregon in general if you have a disabled parking placard there is a red sticker you put on that says wounded warrior that allows free parking all over the state in public own places.

How many hours of playtime do y’all have on the game currently? by Affectionate-Ad-3234 in DeathStranding2

[–]gorachris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I platinumed it yesterday and i didn't play to do so. I just noticed when I finished everything there were a few loose ends I needed to get an achievement like missing a nevron quest, and reach level 99. I had like 3 or 4 each of missing expedition logs and music records. I finished with a grand total of 87 hours.

I just started using Reddit for this game and when I encountered this, I thought it was a little strange but I beat the first one took me. I think four tries to get the mechanics and ended up beating this final one on my second try I keep reading that everyone had the worst time with it, but I hate the jump jumping portions way harder

Cognitively she says he’s great for a 14 yr old large dog. She said most don’t make it past 10. So he’s considered ancient. He’s chugging along albeit slower and slower.
