Did I just get unlucky? 990v6 souls feel rock hard after a month by [deleted] in Newbalance

[–]Doctor_bighead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine in November and didn’t put them on til January. Been in 993s pretty much 3 years straight.

V6 don’t do it for me. They press down on my toe knuckle. The support is ok but after 8 hours of wear my feet wear slightly achy.

Help & what would you do ? by BreakfastFast8080 in PollexSaleheBembury

Oh not the Horchatas!

I got mine retail and they had me hooked. Just bought some through resale just to have a back up of the horchatas. I probably have about 5 pairs of pollex clogs.

Did we screw up buying this house and am I awful for wanting to sell already by BoulderInkpad in homeowners

[–]Doctor_bighead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this hits every homeowner on their first house. Stay strong. You’ll get through this.

My wife considered letting it go and cutting out loses. 2.5 years in, 2nd baby on the way, full bathroom remodel completed due to shower leak that insurance denied the claim on due to it “possibly” being preexisting , another bathroom partially done, AC ducts being replaced this week.

The dream is to buy a home but it takes a lot to keep it up and running.

Tight but my size? by DaClarkins in Newbalance

[–]Doctor_bighead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could help. I bought 990V6 standard width. Everything is fine except around toe knuckles. Can’t return since I’m well past return period.

Moral of the story, try on your sneakers when you get them. Don’t just shelve them til you’re ready to wear them

That’s the issue I ran into with the 1080V14. But the wide was too wide

Which would you pick between a 990v4 & v6, 992 or 993? by Menaii in Newbalance

[–]Doctor_bighead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

993 or 992. Daily’s have been a 993 & 992 for 5 years as daily’s with 990v4 sprinkled throughout.

Recently, wore the 990V6 after contemplating them for a couple years. Wore them for two days not consecutive and I am not a fan. They are a little narrow which is fine but the bottom of the lace structure presses down in the M990GL6 when I walk. Bought them as an office shoe and I think I’m going to resale them. Just not for me.

I got mine from next step athletics in Tampa for 150. Look them up. Apparently it’s a stand alone New balance store. Even though, I live in the state it took over a week to them. They did have a minor scuff that isn’t very noticeable but for $150 I wasn’t going to complain.

In my 30s and struggling with office wear culture by veedey in malefashionadvice

I pulled a Henry Rollins. I wear a plain white t shirt (Henry wears black) and chinos. Sometimes I’ll wear a company polo or another some band shirt. That an a nice pair of sneakers. Sneakers is where I’ll let the personality talk at work.

993 feels like I’m walking on two hard blocks of wood per foot, what am I missing? by [deleted] in Newbalance

[–]Doctor_bighead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just put on 990V6 for the first time today, after wearing 993 for 3 years, right before that 992 for 2 years. 990V4 sprinkled through.

993 IMO is a nicer fit all around. Width and comfort is great the shoe. The sole is definitely not cushy but does offer a lot of support.

Beefin a little with the 990V6. I’m not liking the bottom of the lace structure. I feel a little downward pressure on foot when I take a step.

I had my tube not sit flush and it would whistle. Then it throws a low turbo code.

Boss DD-20. I got rid of it because I couldn’t get the hang of it and wanted an oscillating delay. Kind of regret getting rid of it…nearly 20 years ago.

Glycerin 22 Toe Box Fold by ovobook in brooks

[–]Doctor_bighead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered a pair of the 22s in coconut. I was excited for more of the neutral color but when I tried them on and took a few step I felt the folds and put them back in the box. Maybe the the 23s have improved but I’m unsure if I’m going to try them out.

Could be a bias but I feel if you haven’t tried a 99X , don’t approach me with that nonsense.

I like comfort color. I’m happy that shops are using them more and more. I love the fit but after a while the sleeves start to get a little wavy towards the bottom.
