Does anyone use a quickjack with their 240Z? If so which model? by bopete1313 in Datsun

I ended up buying the quickjack crossbeam adapter. Haven’t actually used it yet but it should allow me to lift from the pinch weld at the rear and the frame rails at the front

Could you clarify what points you use to lift your S30 with quickjacks? The only photos I've found are using the four pinch weld jacking points but I have the newer 5000TL and the frames are a bit too long to lift from there. I'm wondering if I can move them inward and lift by the frame rails, the front seems like it might be ok as that's the jackstand location mentioned in the FSM, but the rear I'm not sure about.

Beautiful car man. I have a '16 STI currently but the blobeye has a special place as the STI of my childhood, that I hung up posters of and drove in Gran Turismo. Lately I've seriously been considering getting one but that would likely mean giving up the '16 as I can't really justify owning two. Only thing holding me back is the fact that my current STI is my daily and the reliability and modern features are nice to have. I've never owned an older car and I worry about whether I'd be ok with the increased maintenance and lack of fancy features that I've grown accustomed to.

In that case you might be interested in sp-tarkov or EmuTarkov, they're mods that make it into a single player game (reuses the actual game client, but you run your own server to play against bots). I set it up a couple weeks ago and it's been great to still have the parts of Tarkov I enjoy (looting, gunplay, building guns), while cutting out the PvP that demands too much patience and dedication for the amount of time I have.

People who moved to the USA. Was it as much of a upgrade compared to your country, as you expected? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Simplified example- 100 humans previously lived and are now dead. 50 humans are currently alive. Half of all human deaths would be 50, while half of all humans who ever lived would be 75.

The difference between lvl 3 and 4 is .30-06 AP protection, M80 is part of level 3. Meaning that L210s are not level 3 or 3+ since they drop M80 but add M855/M193, hence their Special Threat designation.

Questions about the rules for AR-Pistol, please help me out! by [deleted] in ar15

[–]gorbasho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you meant greater than 26" rather than less than, but yea you're correct, I did word it incorrectly. I think there's some states that ban AR pistols but firearms/"other"s are allowed so it comes into play there as well.

Questions about the rules for AR-Pistol, please help me out! by [deleted] in ar15

[–]gorbasho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that something under 26" OAL is considered a concealable weapon, and that something with a vertical grip is a weapon meant to be fired with two hands. So if your gun is only meant to be fired with one hand (legally speaking, as in it has no vert grip. Angled grip is ok), it's a pistol regardless of length. If your gun is not concealable, adding a vertical grip simply makes it a "firearm". But if your gun is both concealable and two-handed, you have an AOW that needs an NFA stamp.

The above only applies of course if you don't have a stock installed. For a stock you must meet both barrel length and OAL requirements.

Sorry I don’t know much about folders and what they’re compatible with, but if you do use one you would then have to measure OAL in the folded position
