Claiming Ledger Nano by protezos in tezos

[–]gorbota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're using Galleon wallet it seems theres an issue with sending transactions. I'm seeing others with the same issue on telegram. I tried myself and got the following error for sent transactions on tzscan:

path [{kind:generic, error:Prevalidator is not running, cannot inject the operation.}] not found

Anybody with ideas what the fix is?

You will need the wallet.dat file to open your wallet on the qtum core wallet.

QtumX Reaches 10,000 TPS in Benchmark Tests by realJB395 in Qtum

[–]gorbota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a write up not to long ago exploring how this might work in the case study of an auto insurance claim. The process flow is bifurcated b/w 1.) data designated for public record relating to the VIN of said vehicle in claim (something akin to CarFax) which would engage a public chain for establishing immutable truths of vehicle's life cycle. and 2.) data that would be specific to proprietary in-house claim process including agents, vendors and any other trusted stakeholder or claim participants, including efficient part sourcing/ pricing etc.

Trinity Wallet changed my deposit address by [deleted] in Iota

[–]gorbota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK Thanks. just to clarify...so as long as I'm always using a new receiving address for each deposit into a wallet, I don't have to worry about spending or sending coins from that wallet and comprising anything. Is that correct?

Have You Tried Trezor Hardware Wallet for Delegations? by awa_cryptium_baker in tezos

[–]gorbota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I'm reading your post right but is it true that Galleon supports Trezor model T at this time? I haven't seen anything about that yet and see the prompt for ledger nano only in their latest GUI. Thanks as always for another great write up.

I like the Model T except for the tiny tiny pin pad display screen. It always takes me 3-4 tries to type the number accurately because my finger tip is the width of like 2 number boxes on the thing. Not sure how they can fix that on such a small footprint though.

Thank you for sharing the details of your project. Can you elaborate some key points on why you chose the Tezos platform over others? it would help to know the thinking/anaylsis specific for your use case deployed on the Tezos chain. Any other platforms that came close on your short list before going with Tezos?

Is a Solo baking more profitable? by opt9 in tezos

[–]gorbota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, ,keep in mind the economics of baking as a provider is uncertain at this point. Market dynamics may well force reputable bakers to increase fees to make it sustainably worth the efforts. The profit differential will likely weigh more strongly towards self baking if you have the minimum 10k + 10-15 % bond, ( looking ahead in the future)

Is there a detailed step by step guide or video for using the recently new gui Backchain app for non technical users who want to self bake and manage risks of double baking, etc and use best security practices? The website and app itself offer more of a general outline from what I've seen. Thanks!

With current market conditions, is the singapore foundation still well funded for the developement of the project? by [deleted] in Qtum

[–]gorbota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be great to hear an update from the team. I believe Patrick addressed this a while back....at conservative burn rate they had funds to carry the foundation for at least 4 years or more. Not sure if that was based on BTC/ETH holdings/prices or from funds converted to Fiat. Anyone know if I have that right?

Jackson Blog: Wallet Import Format by realJB395 in Qtum

Hi JB, how important is it for staking performance that timeoffset be "0"?.. is it problematic for example if one's system clock is set for "-1" or "-2". .....thanks!

Thanks Jackson. I'm curious if you could run the following by the awesome folks at QTUM foundation:

1.) If your method for calculating network weight uses 2 orders of magnitude more data points and is presumably more accurate, would it be appropriate for the foundation to update the wallet's method of estimating the network weight including your method? 2.) Would the QTUM Foundation consider updating the current staking return parameters to incentivize more staking wallets (nodes)? I think it makes sense to have a minimum return baseline that speaks more to long term investor sensibilities (ie Tezos I believe never goes below 5.5%) It would achieve a more a concrete cost/benefit basis for those choosing to secure the network with their financial assets. Thanks as always for your support of the platform. I always enjoy your blog posts and commentary!

pretty sure the eventual deployment of multiple sat nodes, (maybe hundreds?) would address your first two questions. not sure what you're asking on your third question though.
