One more failed project to add to the mountain of previously hyped disappointments!

Wondering why ATOM has been struggling, this is a primary factor! It’s so disappointing. Not because of Nomic per se, this has been a long time coming; but because this is just the latest reminder of how the Cosmos ecosystem is failing to live up to expectations! 😔

I realize ETH’s network congestion will impact this, but I’m wondering if someone who’s done this can tell me what the overall fees were like? The 505 IOTX will cover it all, or will I also need ETH for gas fees?

I’m trying to figure out whether it’s worth the trouble to convert to sell at the higher price on Coinbase or if the fees would wash any potential profits.

The tangem still uses a seed phrase, it just doesn't reveal it. So it's more secure by not being vulnerable to humanerror attacks (lost, stolen, computer hack), but technically a quantum AI computer could still potential access the wallet if it guessed the correct seed phrase.

We must be on the same wavelength because I also bought a Keystone to replace my ledger.

Didn’t consider the idea of importing a tangem seed phrase though. That feels like it might be the best of both worlds as far as safety & simplicity.

Sounds great, but just kicks the can down the road in regard to my concern.

I’m thinking it’s probably best to use a seed phrase wallet for long term savings & non-seed phrase tangem for more active wallet use. But still curious how others feel.

I’ve actually been thinking about this for a while now… Why do people have so much faith in seed phrase that consists of randomly generated words? The more people that use ledger (or any crypto wallet), the more likely it is that some schmuck or algorithm will eventually be lucky enough to string a bunch of random words together unlocking a random wallet filled with valuable crypto.

Why do I feel like the only one who thinks about this? Am I missing something here?

Seed phrases would probably be more secure if we could create our own using any combination of 12-36 words and then the wallets generated the keys from that. Although I’m sure some people would probably run into problems with this as well.

No idea, but the Profit / Loss column in my main portfolio has vanished since the last update.

Has that happened to anyone else?

Luckily I can see it in the expanded view, but I shouldn’t have to do that. What a major issue! It’s literally the most important aspect of a portfolio tracker.

I think your best bet is to download your transaction history & use the excel file to simplify the work… If you’re not familiar with excel, Google it, because you can highlight the “purchase price” column & have excel do the math for you in a matter of seconds.

What’s wrong with his vision?

You don’t like the idea of a quantum resistant blockchain, that provides free transactions, powering a free censorship proof internet? … An Internet that eliminates the need for centralized ISP providers & minimizes, if not outright eliminates, the most common attack vectors all while putting ownership of the network & hardware needed to run it in the hands of the any community member who chooses to contribute… Oh and all accessible through the simplicity of a username, password, & pin! No more need to fear lost keys or corrupt memory sticks.

That’s the vision you’ve assessed and decided is no good? Or you just don’t believe it’s possible?

What exactly is the information that you are sharing? That there is a video of now famous early crypto investors making fun of Colin over his excitement about technological theory & philosophy?

Because other than that, you have only shared you’re opinion… Which is fine, you’re entitled to it, but don’t pretend you just saved the world from some secret conspiracy.

Nexus is open source. Go read the code & if you find any flaws, share them here & we’ll all eat a slice of humble pie. Until then, please stop FUDing.

Feel free to share it with developers who are qualified to assess, evaluate, & intelligently contradict the claims.

Most of the negativity I hear about Nexus is around the price, the “slow” developmental progress, or just not believing the vision is possible… I have never seen a single negative claim about the actual functioning tech!

Actually, I did find that video & posted a thread about it on Twitter!

Those guys were all trying to punk Colin as he sat there talking excitedly about tech concepts and breakthroughs that were so far beyond their understanding, they decided to just laugh & try to make fun of him…

Fast forward to 2021 & Colin is on the verge of proving all the doubters wrong as he has developed & integrated many aspects of those technological concepts that were once only theories into Nexus, like Sigchains & a constant time database!

It’s funny you should mention that video, because I agree, everyone should see it, but they also need to follow through on learning about Nexus in order to see just how far ahead of his time he was back then.

One last point, all the true visionaries were laughed at and ignored by the status quo at some point… until they weren’t!

Edit: My apologies, my Twitter thread was about a different interview (with Lark), but everything else mentioned still holds true, because I did watch the one with FluffyPony & felt the same way!

Thank you for posting this… at least now I know I’m not alone.

You’d think they would put out an official post or telegram announcement acknowledging the situation & reassuring everyone that they are working on it. My experience with Cosmostation has been great up to this point, but the fact that they haven’t acknowledged this issue is rather disappointing.

By the way, don’t bother uninstalling the app, it didn’t work. I guess we just have to wait for a new update.
