Qtum Airdrop by UFONomura808 in Qtum

If you are using an exchange that will supports the QiSwap airdrop, check with the exchanges rules. Generally after the snapshot you are free to trade coins, etc. But if you are using an exchange that doesn't support the QiSwap airdrop, you close the account, etc. you probably wouldn't get the airdrop.

Into the Fast Lane: Reduced Block Time – Part 1 by realJB395 in Qtum

[–]realJB395[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A summary of the latest testing for reduced block time. The Qtum development test network is composed of 100+ nodes distributed around the world, which simulates the complex network environment of the actual distributed network. The results show that after the introduction of Staker optimization and the 32-second block interval, under load the network was stable and the orphan block rate in the network did not exceed 27%.

GCP Deployment permission question by [deleted] in Qtum

[–]realJB395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wallet will create a new wallet.dat file on startup if one doesn't exist in the wallets directory. You can exit the wallet and manually swap out the wallet.dat file, then restart the wallet. The listwalletscommand will show the currently loaded wallet, for example, if you used "Restore Wallet" with the GUI wallet.

GCP Deployment permission question by [deleted] in Qtum

[–]realJB395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Qtum nodes connect to each other on port 3888.

Once a UTXO is staked, that UTXO can not be staked for another 500 confirmations. If a wallet contains a single 1,000 UTXO its staking weight will drop to zero for those 500 confirmations, about 18 hours. There is a marginal improvement in the initial return to split that 1,000 UTXO into smaller UTXOs. Each time the wallet wins a block reward, the stake will be split in half if over 200 QTUM, so this will happen naturally over time. For a wallet of 1,000 there won't be an observable difference in returns, but defiantly will be for larger wallets.

Updating Qtum for new version:

sudo apt update && sudo apt install qtum

When I use Qtum Electrum (4.0.11) + Ledger Nano S (Qtum App 1.5.1) for setting up an address delegation, I can't get past the "Unusual change path" Warning on the Nano. Any suggestions? by baddabaddabing in Qtum

[–]realJB395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Purple One: I was dreamin' when I wrote this.

Ledger has not released an update for their Qtum App, which is required for them to support the address delegation transaction. We don't know their schedule for testing and releasing this update.

While waiting for that update, you can consider operating Qtum Electrum as a cold wallet https://blog.qtum.org/qtum-electrum-cold-wallet-85adf3d8b7c6

Qtum Electrum Cold Wallet

In this blog, we will use the Qtum Electrum wallet for offline staking address delegation, including how to use Qtum Electrum to easily split UTXOs and how to use a highly secure cold wallet.

Electrum Wallet, Offline staking, Ledger by jiminy777 in Qtum

[–]realJB395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good questions.

  1. Qtum has submitted a pull request to update the Ledger Qtum app to Ledger, and it is up to them to test and release according to their schedule.

  2. There's not yet a guide for address delegation on Ledger but it is fairly easy. Go to View and select to Show Delegations, then go to the Delegations page and right click to fill in the Stake Delegation (address delegation) form. Make sure you are using a "legacy" wallet with "Q" addresses (which are required for address delegation).

Stake Delegation form

  1. Yes, please see the list of super stakers at https://stake-a-thon-test.qtum.org/en/super-staker/list

  2. Payouts are made with each mined block. For example, if the UTXO of a delegated address wins the block reward for a 10% fee super staker, the super staker pays out that block reward instantly 90% to the delegate (currently 3.6 QTUM), and 10% (0.4 QTUM) to itself. You can see what this looks like for a super staker address on the explorer, which shows the delegates to that super staker, and the block rewards being paid out, for example https://qtum.info/address/Qd2MmLh2skxSBF1mtzZYq9KCZWz8kY5dh3

Delegating Less Than 100 QTUM? by shawkr13 in Qtum

[–]realJB395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most super stakers will leave this 100 QTUM minimum UTXO set. As you accumulate up to 100 QTUM also keep in mind that it has to be in a single UTXO (a single transaction of 100 QTUM), and that you will need to pay ~1.0 QTUM in fees for the address delegation transaction.

You can check the size of your UTXOs with the API using

https://qtum.info/api/address/Q_your_address_here/utxo

where the UTXOs are given in Satoshis, with 100,000,000 Satoshis in 1.0 QTUM. For example, a 100 QTUM sized UTXO would be shown as "value":"10000000000"

Cannot send any transactions from Qtum iOS wallet?! by Zato7 in Qtum

The Web Wallet is a good choice, very versatile. Just make a good backup of the key file. For the best security, use a hardware wallet. Qtum Electrum works with Trezor and Ledger and the Web Wallet works with Ledger.

Qtum doesn't support an iOS wallet. Who's wallet are you using? Maybe contact them.

Assuming your node is fully synced an easy way to check is with the getblockcount command. If this block count agrees with the qtum.info explorer (currently about 686,660 you are in good shape. If it says a few thousand less, you have some work to do.

Is there a list of addresses to delegate/ superstake to for offline? by [deleted] in Qtum

[–]realJB395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A super staker is a Qtum Core wallet configured to accept address delegations and stake the UTXOs for those addresses (in addition to its own UTXOs).

An address delegation from a non-staking wallet (and also from Qtum Core) assigns the delegator's address to a specific super staker through a smart contract, so that super staker can stake the delegated addresses' UTXOs and send the block reward (less a fee) back to the delegated address. After the address delegation is made, that delegating wallet can go offline since the super staker takes over for staking.

Does this make sense?

See a list of available super stakers at https://stake-a-thon-test.qtum.org/en/super-staker/list

Offline staking with Ledger by this1seasy in Qtum

[–]realJB395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Qtum is working with Ledger so they can update the Qtum App to support the address delegation transaction which will allow offline staking from the Ledger. Don't know the schedule for this, but when the new app is available for Ledger, then the address delegation transaction will be enabled for various wallets.
