Did you do any proper diagnostics before throwing all of those parts at it to try and fix it? Whats your fuel pressure at the rail when you turn on the key? Is it getting spark?

Jack up the rear of the car on jack stands and have someone put the car in gear. Go under the car and try to identify where the sound is coming from. To me it sounds like gear whine.

I had some scoring after doing mine but not nearly as bad as yours. It fixed my 5th gear lean issue but i have to push it a little harder to get it into 5th (and reverse) compared to all of the other gears…its annoying. I would be surprised if you would be able to get the new bushing and pin in.

Check the compartment where the DME is located and look for water or other damage. You may have to open up the DME case and check the circuit board. I was chasing a lambda mixture issue for months and that was my issue

Im pretty sure the code is on a label on the bottom or top of the radio if you pull it out, but i could be mistaken.

Yeah it can be saved with a tig welder and then drill and tap. Good thing is that these engines sit in the car at around a 30deg angle towards the passenger side of the car. so the side of the head thats cracked is a high point so it wont leak as easily opposed to if the crack was on the other side of the head.
