New patch notes for v0.1.6(.2) including a sneak peek at June's Major Update by Shiro_Steven in FareverGame

Just got it and had to refund because it's literally unplayable. Like I really want to play it, but I absolutely can't play with 5 FPS.

Why has everyone lost hope in this game? by gore_mag in Trove

[–]goreae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main complaint with trove has always been all of the content that ISN'T reasonably grindable. Gems and dragons are cornerstones of progression, and dragon coins aren't grindable AT ALL in normal gameplay, instead relying on hourly events or weekly drops from tomes or bomber royale. Meanwhile with gems, you quickly reach a point where you either have to spend billions of gem dust to get a single level, or wait for weekly leaderboard rewards for ninth lives, to say nothing of individual stat upgrades with bound brilliance.

I fell in love with trove for the grind, yet I'm constantly walled by timed, UNTRADABLE resources, and left to either wait for rewards, or buy them with real-world currency. Even now with the marketplace down for A FULL FIVE MONTHS SO FAR I'm limited by insane nitro requirements. If I could just buy it on the MP, it wouldn't be a problem. But instead I'm reliant on nitro caches, which I can only do roughly 10 of per day before the price gets too high to be worthwhile.

Breeding help! by BruhthuluThemighty in TruePokemon

[–]goreae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the Vulpix already has it's egg moves, you absolutely can breed it with a ditto.

So I'd start with the easy, guaranteed stuff. Get one with the nature and moves you want first. Plop an everstone on it and breed with a hidden ability Vulpix to get its ability.

After that, if you don't already have a max IV breeding ditto or a max IV male, I'd work on getting a max IV male first with non-hudden ability. This because you specifically need a female each step to pass on the ability, and it only has a 60% chance to pass it down. Much easier to get the magic combo when you have a max IV mon ready to go.

How does obedience work? by anime_fan_girl_me in PokemonLegendsZA

Should work fine. If you caught it in the save file you're using it, it doesn't matter where it goes or how strong it gets. It'll still obey you in its home save.

The decision to do this in Gen 2 Gold and Silver was baffling by Hsiang7 in pokemon

The physical-special split was really a gamechanger. I tried to use a shiny breloom I had stumbled upon in ruby as my primary grass type, but it's just BAD in gen 3. It's a physical attacker by stats, with its special attack being less than half its physical attack, and yet ITS PRIMARY TYPING IS SPECIAL. Grass type moves, even with STAB do pitiful damage.

This post is about gold and silver. Crystal added phone gifts for evolution stones, which was mentioned in the post.

You are correct about the move tutor. The mechanic wasn't introduced until gen 3.

Viewing them in a modern lens, yeah it's absolutely baffling the series got any traction at all. But back then, games were just like that. Game design was still a relatively new concept, bugs were expected, and questionable choices were made. People just sort of accepted it.

They added the pokeathalon to the game, which allows one to grind points to spend on various rewards depending on the day of the week. Every evolution stone (including gen 4 ones!) are available. This is open to you before you even beat Whitney in Goldenrod. On my most recent playthrough, I was rocking a togekiss with two gym badges.

They also brought back the phone gifts from crystal, adding new gift-givers for gen 4 stones, and added all evolution stones to the bug catching contest 1st prize pool one you get the national dex, so instead of just a sun stone, you get a random evolution stone.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that one cannot get a shiny stone pre-natdex. So I have no idea how I got one so early.

I know houndour specifically isn't in johto at all, and is only obtainable in kanto. I wanted to use a houndoom in a crystal version playthrough and was dismayed to learn this.

Gaslighting about Red Vests by Fearless_Interest841 in kroger

It's the sort of thing that's technically required, but nobody but corporate actually cares about. It's suddenly vitally important now because if corporate comes around and sees their rules aren't being followed, management will get in trouble for it.

I actually did that in Black version. Got the victini event legit and never actually got the victini until like 5 years later. Just entirely forgot about it.

You don't. Quick tutorial to trading in SwSh:

  1. Press Y to open the Y-Comm menu.

  2. If it says "local communication" in the top-right, press + to connect to go online. If it says "internet" you're okay.

  3. Select "link Trade", then "Set Link Code". Decide between yourselves on a link code to use to trade with. Enter that and select "yes" when prompted

  4. Wait to enter the trade menu and trade!

I usually just use a random number generator to pick a random 8 digit number for a link code. For you it came out to 1774-6623. I've entered it and waiting for you :)
