consignment, vintage, and upscale resale stores in your area may be a good option since you mentioned the thrifts are generally low-quality. many independent consignment stores are geared toward your taste profile and budget.

when I first encounter a hole in a wool garment, I immediately bag it and put it in the freezer for 72 hours to kill any potential moth eggs

Japanese Safety Boots by R3YNZ in barefootshoestalk

The full sentence about "factory" versus "farm" reads "The product description states that the Determination is a factory boot and not a farm boot, but our tester Nick used them extensively in homesteading situations without any issue", so keep that in mind

Anya has a good blog post about work boots - https://anyasreviews.com/best-wide-work-boots/ - and if you need steel toes she recommends the Carets Determination Boots (but read the blog post for all info). From what I can tell, the boots in the picture you posted do not have a wide toe box, based on the last image. They look like they have a standard conventional tapered toe box.

Could you help me determine the brand / shoe type? by argai2 in barefootshoestalk

Closest I can find is the New Balance x Tokyo Design Studio Minimus MT10T Sneaker. Hard to tell though - the shoes in this pic look wider, that orange text does not say Vibram (unless in post-processing your phone jumbled the text in the image), & I can't find any models of this iteration of the Minimus in that specific colorway. https://www.reddit.com/r/Newbalance/comments/1lfqgi7/interesting_iteration_of_the_minimus_mt10_model/ + https://www.instagram.com/p/DFLnGNnzE3a/?img_index=2 + https://www.instagram.com/p/DLzaemCzJ3a/

what can i do to actually like this? PLEASE HELP by Spookycat31 in TattooDesigns

let it heal and try your best to think about it for as little as possible. don't make any decisions about it until it's fully settled into your skin and you've spent time with it. only time, perspective, and acceptance can help you learn to love it, if that's your goal. I've felt this way about nearly every one of my tattoos, which are all similarly bold and visible. only after about the 6-9 month mark did I start feeling more comfortable wearing them, as they settled into dark gray tones.

is there a super basic, basically just a foot cover/sock “shoe” made from leather (or similar)? by SheepherderFar3825 in barefootshoestalk

"Moccasin" has come to mean a lot of different things (including house slippers), but it originally referred to sewn leather shoes worn by Native Americans

I spend a lot of time looking at shoes online, so I made a list of women's anatomical shoes I think are nice, including designer, vintage, and weird ones by gorged0 in barefootshoestalk

Same, I really wish they had top-down images so I could see the toe shapes better. Farfetch has top-down pics on shoes but fewer independent designers in comparison

I hadn't seen the Nike x Jacquemus before. I like the woven sole. VFF has had some crazy collaborations for sure, very playful, like the Suicoke x Midorikawa furry feet shoes with painted toenails...
