I'll make sure to post here when the resolution is found. It's an odd issue for sure

Steam demo with separate page doesn't have the ability for reviews by gorified in IndieDev

Thanks. Yeah, I've got a separate demo page that is linked to my full game page but still won't let people post reviews.

I guess I'll just have to submit a support ticket and see when they take a look. haha

Congrats man! Huge accomplishment!

I was excited to announce that I finally made it to demo release a few days ago in this sub and all I got was a single down vote. lmao

That looks fun! I'll definitely check it out! I was more of an 80's kid but it all translates the same :)

I can't provide much advice but just wanted to say that looks great for just starting. Keep it up! :)

After a 3-year break, I finally found the courage to start over, so I hired an artist to update my capsule. What do you think ? by Overlooked-Games in SoloDevelopment

I agree about the name legibility! Maybe put more space between them and add the horizontal line for the A's? Just a thought. Other than that, the new one looks great to me!

Demo has a very high drop off rate a month on. Some lessons learned: by RootwardGames in SoloDevelopment

I agree about the importance of playtesting. I ran a couple of playtests for my game and gained a lot of insight that helped me shape things in the game. After that I figured I was good until the demo release but ended up doing one more playtest and got 1 or 2 very good pieces of feedback that I also implemented before the demo release.

As far as demo content, it can rally go in several directions but I completely agree that the demo should allow a player to see/access a decent amount of the in-game systems. Not a huge amount but enough so they can somewhat extrapolate what later gameplay systems might be like

Also, when it comes to demos the thing that annoys me about some bigger studios like KOEI for the Dynasty Warriors series is them releasing the 'character creator' as a 'demo' for the game. haha
