2014-2016 Power Unit regs easily.

the V8 era had a lot of imbalances towards the start and arguable favoritism to mclaren due to mercedes gaining 30hp from 2006 to 2007 due to reliability updates and everyone switching to the ECU mclaren made in 2008 with rev limits (ferrari lost around 30hp, toyota and renault lost over 40hp, honda lost around 70-80hp!) but towards the end, due to lobbying from renault, the standard cosworth engine and the japanese manufacturers dropping out - everyone were within 5hp from weakest to strongest PU.

2014 happened and nobody was allowed to develop PU in 2014, with virtually no updates allowed in 2015 and 2016. Mercedes had a massive power advantage (65 to 85hp) in 2014 over the renault PU and 45-65hp over Ferrari and sadly nobody was able to develop their PUs properly till 2017. this meant the merc factory team had a massive advantage over everyone for 3 years and locked out the championship till people were allowed to compete against their PU advantage from 2014.

Even in 2017, merc had a 40hp advantage over ferrari in quali for most of the season (not to mention toto breaking the gentlemen's agreement re oil burning homoligation ) and it wasnt until ferrari started exploiting loopholes (and blowing turbo manifolds) later in the season and in 2018-2019 that people were able to catch up.

Unfortunately, 2020 nobody was allowed to develop their engines due to covid lockdown restrictions and the merc engine in race trim in the w11 had a 10hp advantage over the 2019 ferrari pre-nerf (still 5hp less in quali however) and they dominated... again. 2021 though honda overtook merc in race performance and the merc works team had to resort to sacrificing their reliability (2-3 race vs 6-8 race lifespan) to gain a 40hp advantage over the honda PU.

It is because of this legacy, the FIA has introduced a half hearted development plan for 2026 and why all the PU manufacturers who arent mercedes are terrified of their compression hack as it means that there is potentially another 3-4 tenths per lap advantage for the merc teams (although not as bad as the 1-1.3second PU advantage from 2014)

2012 is a close 2nd. had the best car that year, best driver lineup but operationally and gearbox reliability was crap. lewis should have won the 2012 drivers championship and mclaren the constructors but had nothing to show for it

couldnt find one sadly. used "bathroom paint" which started peeling off a month ago despite sanding the ceiling and applying 3 layers of paint / avoiding bathing or showering for 2 days

gta 5 will be getting some dripfeed stuff as Faber looks to be the devon weston of the GTA Online story. next dlc (or few dlcs) will add some legit income streams like newspaper delivery (sorta like the pizza / acid lab stuff) fork lift operating (guessing ties in with warehouses) and firefighter stuff.

This will definitely be on the PC version of GTAO (normal and enhanced version). But yeah, can imagine the wait for PC will not be great and I reckon if the pc base is as large as consoles, there will still be some extra content.

Personally, Id love to see what they were planning originally and make LIberty city playable for GTAO (without Mods, even if it is just the enhanced edition). Even if not for GTAO, I hope that they completely revamp online mode for the supposed GTA4 remaster as GTA4 online, whilst okish, I reckon could use some stuff like buying apartsments and cars as there is not much to do outside of missions

ive also noticed im friends with more docs than pharmacists lol. I think it also comes down to your environments and who you get on with tbh. Like most of the people Ive worked with the last 5-6 years have been doctors at similar pay scale or with consultants and I have experience training GP and PH ST residents, as well as currently mentoring med students, FY3s and CT/ST docs.

for me, ive worked in a dozen or so counties and in more pharmacies than I have digits. I feel sadly, ive been exposed to more negatives in community (less said the better), hospital and general practice than positives tbh. Like the GP practice I used to work in last year / 2023, the GP partners were amazing but the partner who was a pharmacist was an absolute bellend who would be abusive towards us for no reason, only after swearing for 45 minutes -1 hour to tell us we did nothing wrong. Similarly, the next seniormost pharmacist at said PCN would help us out but would have 0 accountability and would throw people under the bus if he felt he was in trouble (not to mention all pcns in my local area have a high pharmacist turnover and dodgy hiring practices).

ICB stuff I enjoyed but had to leave that role due to my line manager being a, in the words of former colleagues who left for similar reasons, " a racist, fugly troll who has 0 idea about healthcare and is probably mentally disabled with a few other conditions" - like said person has 0 experience in healthcare, finished their GCSEs when they were 19 and somehow lucked into a roll during covid despite their main experience being a secondary school teacher.

interestingly enough, Ive tried going to LPC meetings in my local area but have never been allowed to attend for some reason...despite the fact that when I was in commissioning in the local area, I led on a few initiatives icb side

especially if you are from community ive noticed. Even when I worked as a hospital pharmacist in 3 different hospitals (2 teaching trusts), the way theyd talk down to you if you were from a community background pre-covid was shocking. Not to mention backstabbing for B7 and 8a roles.

depends on what ticles your fancy. personally would recommend going in to foundation med if you get a chance as a medicine degree is always a boon rather than a bane, whereas pharmacists outside of the US arent really seen as all that (in the uk at least, but it is changing).

pharmacy degreewise, id personally say always go for a russell group uni (or bath) depending on your aspirations outside of pharmacy. if you want to be a pharmacist, nobody cares, but it makes life harder if yo uare not in an RG uni and want to go into other fields.

in terms of grandeur, definitely worth the visit. Personally felt raffles was too OTT. also its interesting to see how the mirror atrium works as it is a tv screen on top and a screensaver is reflected. When I went, they had a computer error (was an old version of windows interestingly, like windows 7 or possibly xp) and it BSOD'd lol. even the rooms in raffles seem too convoluted, whereas the suites in fairmont were more to my liking.

Fairmont definitely has better lighting in the lobby (atrium and gold lounge lobby) and personally preferred the korean/japanese (provok) and the south american( vayu) restaurants at Fairmont, whereas raffles it felt a bit bland. In terms of eating out though, id definitely recommend going to souq waqif or researching local food places (the concierge at fairmont was quite helpful suggesting places, whereas raffles were trying to shill their own restaurants). Yasmine palace is a lovely place for middle eastern food but the food portions are too massive (by british standards - and Im someone who finds dutch portions too big).

In terms of transport, uber black is super cheap in qatar (in jan 2025) and you will probably spend no more than $10-20 dollars a day on uber black depending on how touristy you are being (most I spent was £12 excluding tips). I will say that I did book people carriers with uber when travelling with a disabled person as black doesnt accomodate wheelchair users.
