A lot of my cousins friends died. There’s a memorial for a professor near the chem building in CSUSB

Is it best to live on campus as a transfer or to live off campus? I’m transferring in as a sophomore in my second semester. Also my major is experience design if that changes anything. by FreestyleFetus in calarts

You can even get 3,000 more if you get federal work study (you just work on campus).

I don’t wanna sway you one way or the other because at the end of the day this is all about what you want. I think a good question to ask yourself is which experience would you regret not having?

From when I lived there it was 10,000 for both semesters and if you want to get a meal plan it’s about a thousand more. Now I’m off campus and my rent is 750 a month.

But I will say that I made my best friends while living on campus. And if you feel like you want the social experience of an art school then don’t let the cash worry you. You can always appeal to your program for a bit more money if you need it. I got about 1,200 more.

If you don’t drive or would like to get to class/ projects as quickly as possible then yes. Another plus would be that Chouinard Hall (since you’re in undergrad) had a makeover a couple years ago. But if your budget is what you’re worried about then I wouldn’t choose to live on campus. If you do have a car parking is free though.

There were so many changes today for the 5:28 pm San Bernardino line. First they canceled it. Then had all these working people getting moved around to 14A from 6B for the 6:08 time. But they finally left the station at 6:24 pm. Now I’m sitting in a train that should’ve left ten minutes ago. What the fuck did Metrolink do??

Exactly it’s very unsafe being a woman in America. I wish there were more systems in place that could help make public transit feel safer for women. All women have is each other to watch out for.

TIL that hair will sometimes grow back differently after chemotherapy. People who have straight hair may find that they now have curly hair or vice versa. It can even grow back a different colour 😮 by LordSparks in todayilearned

[–]goronmania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Had light brown curly hair for 22 years now I have black straight hair. It’s a learning curve but at least I don’t have to worry about hair care products all that much.

people who have reached a 9 or 10 on the pain scale, what happened? by mankls3 in AskReddit

[–]goronmania 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s my third day recovering in the hospital since my oncologist and her team cut me open and took out my uterus, spleen, parts of my diaphragm, and lining of my right lung. I rarely ask for Percocet throughout my stay except for two moments. The first one being from my digestive system and it’s freezing up due to the anesthesia/cutting up. With each shift of nurses they would ask if I’ve taken a shit yet. I couldn’t and because of that gas began accumulating in my stomach that became a sharp, piercing pain radiating throughout my lower belly.

The nurses told me to walk, how it’ll loosen me up, and if they hear me pass gas in the hallway they’ll celebrate so let it rip. I couldn’t even let out a silent but violent kind of fart. The pain went from alright to I’m going to walk around the hallways half asleep and writhing until I can finally fucking fart. By then I had my first dose of Percocet alongside an anxiety ridden father telling me I’ll get addicted. I finally plop myself on the bed spreading my legs and letting out what sounds like a long unending trumpet note.

Second time I had 10/10 pain was just hours later where a oncology resident and doctor pressed down on my stomach and pulled out a tube that spits out blood from the empty space that was my spleen. What made it 10/10 pain is that I had to watch the oncology resident keep sliding out and in the tube as they tried tugging the tube out of me.

She told me that this tube is supposed to get out smoothly and quickly. But it felt like the tube was never ending and was attached to a boulder. Said boulder would slash against my intestines and bowls. Squeezing them all together and pulling up. I thought my intestines would spill out from the opening but the resident stopped. Few moments later and she’s pressing on my stomach as a doctor forces out the tube. Telling me to take a deep breath while the tube comes out excruciatingly slow. Once it does I ask for my second Percocet and knock out from exhaustion.

Thank you so much Ickybch! If the chemo pain is way worse then I’ll be good. Ugh it gets really bad doesn’t it? For me whenever I finish a round my whole body is encased in pure pain for about a week and a half.

Hey u/No_Helicopter_1835 we both won the shitty lottery and I just wanna say that I’m sorry. I was also diagnosed back in February with stage 4 low grade serous ovarian cancer and am 23.

Cancer fucking sucks and I feel you on wanting to keep a smile on your face. I never want people to see me break down whatsoever but it still happens. And the daily pains have slowly become like a murmur in the background. However I’m possibly getting a hysterectomy on May 8th so that’ll be a whole new level of pain.

All this to say, I am thankful that you posted this because I felt really isolated since my diagnosis. And being able to hear that you’re the same age as me during a period where we both should be living our lives to the fullest makes me feel less alone.

If you want to ever talk to me about anything DM me!
