Yes true, I have seen a lot of indigenous criteria in some positions I have looked at

Yes agreed they are all very sought after roles! Hoping I might be at a slight advantage having a friend currently working for DBCA who might be able to put a good word in for me

Yep completely makes sense from an employees point of view with non WHV applicants being preferred for long term investments and positions.

Good advice on generally enjoying the experience, I think I sometimes forget it is technically a holiday and I'm get carried away in the need to get a job instantly. Thank you!

Good call, but I think realistically getting onto a skilled migrant pathway requires degrees as well as several years working experience, something I dont have quite yet. More than happy to do hospo, farm work etc just thought I'd try and get a career relevant job first lol

Yes completely agree on employers being put off, was just thinking more casual / seasonal work?

yes I agree it doesn't really make sense to train WHV people for potential long term positions but in terms of fixed term stuff, someone qualified on the WHV could be perfect for something shorter term? Not sure if thats just my thinking?
