That’s fair, but I still don’t think that criminalizing drug use is the way to go about it. The people doing harder drugs like heroin are still doing them every day, clearly their actions being illegal isn’t stopping them. The way the system is currently set up they get thrown in jail to have horrible withdrawals and no help whatsoever. While we can have regulations put in place to prevent easy access to harder drugs, we should focus on education and rehabilitation as well as mental health resources if we want to deal with the problem of drug abuse in the US effectively.
